The PAD thread?! did we miss something? :D love the light sabre fight too!! I sound like Darth at the moment. Damn chest infection
PAD is on the Debt Free forums, essentially the idea is "A payment a day makes the debts go away" We pay an amount each day to our debts (or savings for those who are debt-free) from 1p upwards. It really has worked for me, I am down to less than 5k debt in a year, from almost 10k :o

The Offspring are NOT impressed that I have yet another thread to read & I told them to blame Rosie for putting the link on the Grocery Challenge angry-smiley-008.gif but they'll change their minds when they see the marvels I can conjure up out of two milk bottle tops & a sprig of ivy :D

Out of interest how many children do you have skinray? I saw you post about a DD3 or 4 as well as a DS4 and wondered if it was a typo or not. :)

Whoops sorry to all my girlies. Was a typo!! I have 4 DD's aged 14, 10, 8, and 2 and a very large child I call hubby!!!

Sometimes my brain doesn't work as quick as it used to hence the typo about having 4 DS!!!

I've got some good ideas from this thread already, thank you :T.

I already have enough wrapping paper, pretty tissue, bows, ribbons, tags for next year so one thing crossed off the list. I used to buy dgd a tree decoration every year on our christmas trip to Nottcutts but I've missed the last couple of years since they moved to Oz so I'm reviving that tradition; I've already bought that and a few small presents so small progress but good!
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

  • I look forward to joining in some of the challenges as this is the year I want to get the spending under control and generally get a bit more organised. I've just ordered lots of half price Avon products with a view to making hampers as gifts this year - whether they'll be for xmas or birthdays i'm still undecided.

Just come back from Mr S and what is left of their Christmas Stock is down to 75% off (cards and crackers mainly)

Picked up for more cards for next year for 62p for 5 etc and finally got the 2ft Christmas Tree decorated for £2.49 instead of £9.99.

It will go in the kitchen next year and I have looked at it for weeks now and I thought it would go down to a low price if there were any left.

Not much else present wise on offer - some gift sets but not many. I think someone mentioned before that the King of Shaves Sets were on offer I think there was one for £2.50 down from £10 if you want to squirrel one away for a pressie.

That's all my bargain hunting done now - cards all bought, crackers, new tree.

Next thing is my mum's birthday in Feb and I am still thinking about what I can get for this as I did a massive pamper hamper at Christmas and needs to be different.

Thinking about a new DVD player/hdd recorder as her dvd isn't very good. Better have a little mosey on amazon and see what is around. Also a birthday meal and cake at mine

Mother's day I thought about putting together a Crossword and Puzzle Hamper as she likes these with a nice bookmark and some other bits as well as cooking a nice Sunday lunch
