I looked at Blogger to start a blog. The first question is to name it. I couldn't think of anything fun or exciting so I gave up.

If anyone has any suggestions, would you let me know. :)

List the things you make and we'll see if we can come up with something! Also list a few things that you like or are typically you!

KMS, they look absolutely gorgeous. I really must try and find the time to start doing crafting of my own. I always look at everyone's ideas on here, but never quite get round to doing it myself.

BTW, is is just me? For some reason I am feeling particularly Christmassy today. I've started making lists! Sorted out all my Christmas cards and paper last night, discovering I don't have to buy anything this year with what I've had left over and from doing a card exchange with friends. Also got myself a new (well new to me, but free from my mum) chest of drawers which I intend to keep all things gift and Christmas related in.

Hi erm, I feel really christmasy today too i am going to make my christmas cakes today :D And last night i made a list of all the people i want/need to buy for this year and was trying to decide what to do for everyone, i asked my inlaws (who invited themselves down for dinner!!) what they wanted this year and got the typical answer of oh i don't mind, you don't have to buy us anything speech  so think as a joke i am going to give them a box of nothing :D

And then when i was sorting my step sisters birthday hamper out with homemade soaps, bath salts and candles among other things, my mil said oh i hate things like that why haven't you just brought her them? (the hm things) And although she said she liked my hm birthday card for her again she said why didn't you just buy her one?

It really annoys me, my step sister is pregnant at the moment and everyone has brought her things for the baby for her birthday so i thought i would make her a litte hamper up for HER, she loves anything natural and that is exactly what the hm things are. And although they are homemade i still had to buy the ingredients etc, so if anything it cost more this way

Sorry for the rant but the more i think about it the more it upsets me than my mil was so rude. Am i reading too much into it?

PS for xmas/birthday i was get money or vouchers from my in laws as does my hubby and kids, which is nice and i don't mean to sound ungreatful and i think is fine for more distant relatives but for close family, i think a bit more thought could go into it.

kms - you rant away, she does sound rude. I best your sister will love it. It's a shame not everyone can appreciate the hard work taht goes into home made stuff. Just don't make her anything home made, and you never know she might start looking all jealous when everyone around her is opening home made stuff!!

My sister gives me a £50 sainsburys gift voucher for christmas between me and OH. It's easy and there's no thought to it. What makes it worse is that it's the £50 christmas bonus she gets from work each year. She should use that for her grocery and buy us something personal IMO. Like you Kms, I'm not ungrateful and she thinks she's helping us out, but there's no imagination there. The fun of christmas for me, is choosing the gifts and giving someone something someone truly wants/likes.

People don't understand how much time and effort go into homemade things though. As I have said before, I used to sell my cross stitch cards and baby samplers. Each card didn't cost a lot to make but would be about 10-12 hours work in each, to only get a couple of quid for it is a bit of an disheartening, that's why I gave up.

To help with the suggestions for a blog name - I love scrapbooking, cardmaking, cross stitch, and I've just got hooked on jewellery making (Thanks to you lot :p) I've done bits and pieces here and there, mosaic, glass painting, flower arranging etc. I love anything crafty. :D
