One for you X stitcher's - is Cross Stitch magazine any good? I was thinking of getting a subscription for a year using CC rewards - wondered if you got any decent free gifts with it too?

I have that! Paid for by my tesco rewards too! LOL

You get something every month free (this month was some needles) it can be anything really - sometimes its shaped cards, a mini cross stitch card kit or new flosses.

I have saved every cross stich magazine I've ever bought so If there's something specific you are looking for a pattern of, just ask.

I had an unexpected birthday last week and gave away one of the big body sets I bought in the Boots 70% off sale. I was very happy to have it in, and it just goes to show that being prepared has its good points! :D

Well thanks to mum2one I have a set of those pictures frames reserved in one Argos, and a Paint your own piggy bank thing and baby playmat reserved in another! Problem is though....I haven't got my purse!!! Its' in Bethan's bag and she's with my Mum currently 50 mins away!!)So I'm hoping to borrow £2 for the frames coz I can pick those up on the way to pick up Bethan after work (and it's a long way out of the way to go after) and my Dad said he'll meet me at the other Argos (which is close to where they live) with my purse later. Phew. lol Typical eh?

Ooh they're nice! I have to go out in a mo, so I'll have a look at your blog later. :)

I've just made my first two memory wire bracelets. :j One has three clear blue beads and then a little silver bead, in a pattern. It matches the earrings I made - well, it's similar. They wouldn't look odd together.

The other one is little multicoloured glass beads with little patterns in the glass, swirls, and flowers etc. Personally, it's not my taste, they didn't look like the photo in ebay, but it's a smaller memory wire so it'll fit my neice.

Hello everyone - you all sound so nice and lovely.

We're getting ready to move house so I spent today emptying the childrens cupboards and found that I already have quite a few Christmas pressies:
Warming hamper for auntie & uncle - handcream, 2 pairs gloves, beeswax candle, matches and household candles.
Gardening Hamper for auntie & uncle - seeds, gardening gloves, plant food, weedkiller, cutters.
Food Hamper for auntie & uncle - Posh balsamic vinegars, posh oils, posh salad dressing.

Then bought two photo albums for £5 which I'll give to ex sister in law along with a disposable camera; brother in law in desperate need of baby clothes for his newest addition (so thats sorted then!) - so scoured the charity shops and have got some gorgeous baby clothes and managed to get a dressing gown and dress up outfit for his 3rd child. For my parents and in laws I'll do a food hamper - just things I know they'll use!

Pleased to be so sorted for a change!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Well done esm. Don't forget to do a bootsale with all the bits you're not taking to the new house. It's a great way to have a clear out and make some money for Christmas. Just make sure it's a sunny day - there will be more people out.

You're doing really well with your gifts. How long to the house move? Edited to add: don't worry - just saw your signature. Lucky you, moving somewhere so beautiful.

Kms. I love doing crafts, but lately I don't seem to have time because I'm on here too much. :rotfl:

I made a baby card on Sunday for a lady at school (son in DD's class), her eldest DD had a baby on Friday, so it was a 'To the proud Grandparents' card. She was most impressed that I had made it myself, and kept saying how lovely it was. I wish I'd took a photo now to show you.

Kms/Susan 42. How do you get a blog? I look at loads but wouldn't have the first idea how to set one up. It might inspire me to do more crafting. ;)
