Afternoon all,
Everyone's being so productive! Is it scary to say that at the moment I have NOTHING bought for Christmas?? lol No real problem though, I think last year I started around August/September and got loads done. Our problem is that most close family actually have lists - does make things easier as you're spending money on things people actually want!! But some people are much better at getting their lists done earlier than others - the earlier the better to get the best bargains.
I'm hoping to start looking at my Christmas spreadsheet from last year later and get it ready for this year..... fingers crossed! lol
Oh, and while I think of it, has anyone got a good onion chutney recipe? Tried and tested preferably? Thanks!
Anyway, I've found a use for one of the baby milk tins! I'm going to cover one (good experiment to see what works!) and use it as an emergency overnight tin to live in my daughter's bedroom. I want to put things in it that woul dbe needed in the middle of the night without having to go hunting for things. Our bathroom is downstairs, so instead of rushing down and scrabbling to try and find bits, I thought putting bits in a tin on her bookshelves might be the more sensible. So far I'm thinking of putting in:
* Calpol
* Teething powder (natural stuff, can't remember the name)
* Thermometer
* Small torch (incase of power cut).
What else could I include?

Perhaps one of those pocket size packets of wet wipes? Or snuffle babe, or Karvol capsules in case of blocked noses disturbing sleep. I can't think of anything else at the moment. I will let you know if I think of anything.
I do have quite a lot of presents Clare, but I leave most of mine Sept/Oct/November time, so people get what they would really like or what is needed at the time so don't feel bad.
I'm fed up of buying things though, only to find they are reduced in December. I drives me Crazy. :mad:I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Clare just edited post to add snufflebabe or Karvol. Hotprints is the site you need. You can get four now, but have to pay p+p. It works out about £2.50 each xxxI :heartpuls M.S.E.

Hello all :j
nicky - lovely necklace and earrings.........what a bargain :T
mum2one - come on...........lets see these fab things your making:T
kms26 - love your candles.......and the bracelet is really pretty:T
clare - what a good idea to have emergency stuff upstairs. I'd never have thought of that:T
Well, I've done nothing today - too busy suffering from same tummy bug that OH had last week.........5am this morning and I'm running to the loo..............:eek: Been ok since lunchtime (thanks to pills) and managed to eat something (fingers crossed it stays put).
Did manage to get another page of my sons fam.tree scrapbook done. I'd left them to one side while I fiddled with other stuff and thought it was time I did a bit more.
Free samples of fabric came today -some are really small but some look about the size I want to 'patch' a couple of skirts that are so comfy I don't want to throw them out. Oh and had free sample of frizz control stuff............can't think of anyone I know with frizzy hair but I can pop in a 'pamper pot' for someone.
So............thats been my day and on top of it all I thought it was Tuesday today -thought OH was fetching the bins in..........he was putting them out.............:rotfl: Very senior moment I think.........lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
