Right I'm off to catch up with everything I've not done all week catch you all later
Have a good day everyone

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
Hi all
Mum2One - that's a brilliant present - I bet she'll be really pleased with it. So cute!
Sarah - I like the sound of small hot water bottles, I could do with some of them e.g. yesterday I was using a large one for aches and pains and it was really arkward.
Mary - your post about button bracelets suddenly triggered a memory for me, and I remembered that after all the panic about safety pins, I did have a load of them after all in my crafting box behind the sofa - they were in a kit to make safety pin and bead bracelets.
I wonder how many of you are 'that' organised that you have a folder describing all your craft stash?0 -
Hello all :j
mum2one -Love the little watering can:T
Angela - surprising what bits and pieces get bought and stashed away then forgotten about or its a case of 'where did I put it?????'
Not very organised really but here goes on list of cheapy pressies:
SOS Boxes -you all must know about...........lol
Small fishing tackle box filled with stuff that someone might run out of........tea bag, batteries, elastoplast etc.
Button necklaces - cord and mums old buttons threaded as per instructions shown on www.buttonjewellery.co.uk (well sort of..........lol)
Specs cases - fabric remnants from charity shop........foam sheets from Poundland -cut material & to size that will fit specs and stitch together with foam inside for padding
Handbag charms - doubt I've done these properly -saw some on Jewellery Thread - got some of my old beads I haven't worn for years and cut the wire to sort of bracelet size adding bigger bead to it and fix to handbag with key ring and one of those things you put on dog leads -don''t know what they're called.
Notebooks -cheapo shopping list size covered with prettty paper
Pens - covered with paper to go with notebooks
Bookmarks - used fabric on card or just pretty card with image of person reading a book or maybe just stick flower on..............punch hole in the other end and thread ribbon through
Journals - cheapo notebooks A5 size covered with fabric or pretty paper -matching pen
Pamper pots - empty pringles tubes covered with paper and filled with samples of bath/beauty stuff
Applique gloves - cheapo pair of gloves (no more than £1 -sometimes 50p) and stick on flower then stitch round the edge. Can do the same thing with a cheapo plain scarf
Can't think of any more at the minute.......got a list in my book but I know there's some I haven't added...............not to mention last years..........lol:rotfl:
Was trying to have as cheap a christmas as possible with freebies off the Freebie Board and anything I'd got round the house I didn't need/want anymore that was good enough to pass on. So far its working..............most expensive pressies will be scrapbooks for my sons but they'll be 'one offs' they won't get again.
Ooops..........nearly forgot this one...........it's over on the Freebie board..........I've done it for my grandkids.......give them a laugh I hope. Past two years I've done the free 'name a star' and sent their name off to Mars...........

Print it all out (this one doesn;t give out certificates till later date) roll up and put in a kitchen roll middle thats covered with paper and ribbon tied round it so it's a sort of 'scroll'I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary, :T
Thanks very much for all the details. Covering a pen? I wonder if that's fiddly?0 -
Angela - not really..........depends on the pen. Mine are all smooth as opposed to some of the bics you see around. Just have to make sure you leave enough space for the end to go in and out at the top of the pen.;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Great quilt Rufus, it looks amazing!
Well done on the weightloss Mum2One, I think I'll try the clotted cream diet too!
I LOVE the new challenges, I've already completed a few
- the Fathers Day one. In Tesco I found 'I love my Daddy' and 'I love my Grandad' mugs, only £1. I bought them for my son to give DH and my Dad for Christmas.
- Leaving presents - my son only goes part-time to nursery so won't be leaving a class as such. Do pople buy for nursery workers at the end of school term, as it's not the end of term for him as he goes through the summer too. We bought for them at Christmas, just wondered what the 'etiquette' was!
I do buy presents for the two teaching assistants I have in my class as well as the two parent helpers that come in. I have 4 lots of bathy sets for the TAs and helpers so that's sortedOne of my teaching assistants is leaving so I'm going to get her extra, don't know what yet though.
Freezer and garden clear out - ideal timing, thanks! We've just sold our house and we're hoping to move in the summer holidays. Therefore the clearout challenges are ideal as I'll have to do it anyway and this way I get to tick another challenge off the list and look extra organised this month :rotfl:
I really like the sound of the £2 challenge. Ages ago I bought a set of jewellery making beads from a charity shop, the full set cost £2. This challenge is the ideal excuse to have a play around with those.
Hope everyone has a great weekend xxMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -

Hello all :j
Well what a day.............there was me happily making some bookmarks then thought I'd wash my hair........stick head over bath and get nose bleed:eek: Second time this week...............had one Thursday night for no apparent reason:eek: So after panicking and having to open new pack of loo rolls in the bath room, dripping wet hair etc. I did the 'squeeze soft part of nose' bit and found my bag of cotton wool balls to plug it up (sorry for being graphic !) and when it eased off I rang NHS direct.........wasn't sure whether I should be rushing of to a GP somewhere (our out of hours is 9 miles away which is a nonsense). Chappie at NHS said to get appt. with GP Monday morning -blood pressure I expect- and if it happens again this weekend to go to A & E !! The hours I've spent there this year:eek:
Meantime to take it easy (lazy old me most times does............lol and not bend down if I can help it.......not difficult with my back..............lol:rotfl:
So fingers crossed and nose pinched/plugged I'll be ok till Monday................its summer fair in town tomorrow.........not sure whether to chance it or not.........it'll be so hot I'll probably melt or have embarrassing nose bleed all over a craft stall  Maybe give it a miss........play on the safe side.
So, hair not washed, well not properly but did get my bookmarks done in the finish.................lol
mum2one - I can't take all the credit for cheapy pressies.........got a lot of ideas from the craft thread and card making thread on here;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
