Ooo we drove through Dawlish last year whilst on holiday - we were staying at Finlake. However on the day we went, everything seemed to be closed. Nice area though - I love it round there, we are going back again to Finlake this October.

Hope your knee is feeling better Mum2One.

Hugs to you also Anglea - feel free to use us as a distraction any time.

Thats weird, Dalwish does get quiet October time, but next time, you should treat yourself to an ice-cream from Gays Creamery, £2 for a special, clotted cream ice-cream, clotted cream and a flake, where the strem runs down the centre of the town, its on the opposiate side to the main shops.

Love Dawlish, always said I'd love to have a property down there, need a millionaire or the lottery ticket!!

Knees not to bad, thou bailey will try to sit on the bad one 1st.....

Very organised made my 1st batch of crafting, done zip clips for purses,
    Mini horse heads
    Ballet shoes
    Strawberries
    Roses

made 10 up, few left to do, but put them up for presents, as they only work out about 20p each, great to finish off xmas prezzies with,
    xx

There were a few sweeties in there, but as shes studying with Open Uni, did stationary items, really girlie colours, otherwise her 2 boys would borrow her pens etc and never return them...... ended up decorating the jar in tissue paper, and cut out 4 0 in constrast colour,.

Love to be there when dad opened the pink envelope!! xx

LOL I thought you meant you did 40 jars - literally - not one jar for a 40th birthday.

    It does sound very nice.

    Hello all :j

mum2one - how did you do your zip clips and other crafty bits on your list ? I'm intrigued.......;)

I've spent most of the day messing about with glue and paper (yet again...........lol) Found a fairly hard piece of cardboard and covered it with paper I'd got with 'girly' written all over it.........stuck on notepad I'd bought from charity shop that was shaped like a dress..........ribbon across it with some braddles through so there was a loop to pop couple of pens in, ribbon through the top to hang it and it looks a treat...........even OH thinks so..............:j Mind you, thats all I've done today...........one of the boys we used to look after rang - been a while since we spoke so it was a good long chat and nice to hear from him.
Been lovely day.........roses are blooming a treat:)

Really must sort out 'stash' in spare room............knocked a load of stuff over this afternoon.........beads and stuff -had a quick panic thinking I'd lost one necklace till I found it under the bed...........................lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi all

I was thinking of this thread today at a weird moment, when I was scrabbling around for some safely pins minutes before needing to leave the house for a funeral.

DS1 decided he needed them to use instead of cuff links! I did offer to sew a few stitches instead to keep the cuffs together but he insisted on pins then went into the dusty garage to find some he had in a rucksack. I was stressing over that as he might get his trousers mucky and minutes later he went back there again, this time wearing his nice black jacket LOL

I looked in my emergency sewing box and no safely pins. So must get some.

The funeral was emotional yet very beautiful. When I got home late this evening I couldn't help but think about a variety of emergency boxes I hadn't considered before based on things I'd seen today. Strange how the mind works.

Sarah, glad you are back in one piece!

Mary, I wonder if you'll ever get fed up with covering things?

Only got emptied this morning.................lol One of his mates has started a window cleaning round so he did my windows..............at last I can see daylight !!:rotfl:
Between them they cleared out some plant pots where the plants hadn't survived the winter.......lo and behold...........some lovely pebbles......just right for making plant markers for sons girlfriends little herb patch..........:j
