    Hello all :j
I'm back !!! Had a lovely time but oh it was nice to have a lie in this morning.............lol
Early start to get the coach to Torquay, early starts for day trips out, loads of walking (oh my poor legs -all those hills !!) Eden project is brilliant, Buckfast Abbey so peaceful I could have stayed there..........had a few words with an elderly monk.......such a lovely man.
9 hour journey what with picking folk up in various places.............got home worn out ! Still, was well worth it and found a 98p shop in Torquay.........got loads of bits and pieces for christmas pressies........some lovely glass beaded bracelets -wish I'd got more of them.
So -now have to get back to some sort of normality -washing in the machine, stuff I bought put away, took me an age to go through all the post that came (including some decent Freebies I'd sent for:j)
Feels like we've been away for fortnight..................lol
Nice to come home to decent weather - need to get new brolly for the garden now before I can sit outside -other one has about had its day:p
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

welscome back mary, you been missed, someone was asking for ideas for tins the other day, and we all waited for your reply but alas you left us.

It always happens like that doesnt it, you purchase something, knowing they`ll come in some where then realise you could have done with some more

Mum 2 one - is there any chance DD could be convinced that may doesnt have a 24th because its a school and bank holiday, if not, could she be gentle, its the heat see. And well done on your money neutral things, thats great.

    And Elysia
    stop thinking ...lol xx

I think mum2one has well covered the 'what to do with tins' topic...............lol (Have copied and pasted that list to remind myself)

So far I've only done two pringles tubes and they're filled with cheapo bubble bath in a pretty bottle (decanted from tescos own) and a load of freebies.......anti wrinkle cream, moisturiser etc.
I've got a plastic box upstairs full of yet more freebies to make some more..........think everyone will have one this year...................lol

Silly ones I've done have been
Santas snot -cover tin with red felt and white for beard -add goggle eyes. pop inside some of that slime stuff (yuk)

    Owl poo
Cover with two shades of brown felt in the shape of an owl, add goggle eyes and fill with chocolates (maltesers?)

    Survival tin
Paper clip -to hold things together when you think they're falling apart...........that sort of thing

    Gardening pot
    String,
Packets of seeds (or seeds from own garden in home made packets), plant markers

    Craftwork tin
Any oddments or embellishments you've got no use for but you know someone who might - fill tin up with them, few ribbons, pritt stick any anything else you've got

    Snowman
Pull a white tube sock over tin or cover with white felt and fill with white marshmallows for snowballs.
For hat use small childs sock in bright colour cut off so it pulls over the top of the tub, elastic band around it so it looks like a ski hat. Or use white socks with stripes above the ankle -pull this over the top to form a hat

    Brain now gone to sleep.........................lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks for all the container ideas mum2one and Mary- there won't be any stopping us now.

Oh no, I threw out some Pringles tubes recently (hangs head in shame) :) On the plus side, I had let the kitchen get over run with jars and boxes and didn't have anywhere else to keep them, so had to have a cull :(

Mum2One - I didn't realise if you did a degree you could choose things like sports when you're doing a financial course.

Mary- glad the holiday was a success and you bought some nice bits for pressies. That long coach journey would have finished me off! What happened to the lad you were looking after when you were away?

Is it just me, but for the last week I kept thinking it's challenge time, got all the dates mixed up. I'm with Susan, the heat is too much for a hard challenge from Miss Hoodie.

    Hello all :j
Too hot for me today so I stayed indoors for a bit and actually did something :T Only little things -I bought a little 'football worry doll' for my son for christmas so made a little bag to put it in...........then created a sort of envelope to go inside a card with a guitar on the front -popped plectrums I got off freebie board and thats another daft pressie to go in other sons birtday box.......just need to do tea bags now (also off freebie board).........looking at spare room I don't know where to start or whats for who.............. Friend coming up this week and hoping she'll give me a hand........it really is a nightmare.

Angela -the young lad we have went to some other carers while we were away. He's back now -came in, dumped clothes and went off out again...............typical ! ............:rotfl:

Well I've had a week and a half.

Kitchen all fitted and looks all sparkly. Here's the photo's on facebook if anyone fancies a peek. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=63983&id=1169775627&l=5070584419

Wednesday dd2 came home with stomachache. Trying to juggle dealing with her and builders at the same time was a nightmare. She was off school the rest of the week. Friday night dd2 really poorly with pain - so had to take her to hospital. She's been given medicine but won't take it bcause it tastes 'nasty'. She's still suffering now - (and me, because she can't sleep with the pain and we've both been up all night, every night, since Wednesday). Fingers crossed she get's better soon.

dd1 Uni exams went well last week. One question on the exam was 'What do you get if a candle melts?' We have high hopes for a pass. :rotfl:
The volcano behaved itself and she flew off to Turkey yesterday. Shame! She went to get some sun and we have it all. :D

Mary, thanks for the reply about the lad, glad you've got some projects to keep you out of mischief :)

Elysia - what a gorgeous kitchen! Was there a diagnosis for the stomache ache? You must be tired with all that going on at once at home.
