Must say very thrifty yesterday - went to the local college and had our hairs cuts, I'm not joking but its he best haircut we have had in ages, sorry to say but even better than in Rhyl!!
Me, mum and dd £12.50 total.

We're ringing again on Monday and booking in for end June, - they close till Sept, normally try to make them last 6weeks, but highly recommend.

The most weird thing was thought the teacher looked familar, it was a lad who use to live round the corner from we, and we both worked at Safeway at the same time, I left in 2000, but we were gd mates, lost in touch when he moved, he now lives 2 mins from me, the weird thing is to me I still think of him as the 18yr old lad, but hes got to be late 20s, at least. I know I age, but I never think of anyone else ageing.

Another bit of good news got full refund from the travel ins from when dd had chicken pox..... thou she has asked can we go to Tunisia again, or maybe Mexico would be nice....... I'll just find that money tree. So plzed. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

He he - I live in Bury!!!

The train ride up to Rawtenstall is lovely - it goes through Ramsbottom (no pun intended there! :p) - sometimes on Sundays they have nice markets at Ramsbottom - you can get off the train at any stop and then get back on and continue your journey.

They also do special trains depending on time of year etc - Santa specials, ride and dine etc

    hth

Small world hey, I love Bury Market can't wait for the trams to get going from Ashton, be much easier to get to for me then.

yes it is a lovely ride and the kids love it, took DS1 years ago to one of the tomas days they do, brilliant Day and not overly priced either.

Sorry to be cheeky, but Cosford is a brillaint airshow, went many yrs ago with my ex, I'm 30mins this side of it, but the last couple of years there been fun and games over the trains, the station stops at cosford, (from memory), down the steps 30 secs ur there.... but from our end they were doing combined rail and entrance tickets, there wasn't enough trains on and a lot of people missed out.

My Uncle goes by car, think the last time he said get there early a gd 3 hrs b4 it starts, he said he waited till a wack of the traffic moved, as someone he knew had the bright idea to get going as soon as the traffic moved...... 3 hrs later he got to the gates.

Another thought re the steam rail - a lot of them do driver training days as gifts, theres usually a link on the website, but the festival or special weekends are great. xx

Yes we are giving it a miss this year, the last 2 years have been horrendous on the trains, we were like tins of sardines last year, and then had to wait 2 hours nearly to get on the train back to wolverhampton, nightmare, although they have supposed to have sorted it out this year, but not holding out hope, if you driving definately go early. Thinking about it not sure why I reccomended it now LOL :rotfl:Although once your in its a great day and you get the museum too.

Ah, Bury market - very nice (except for the Black puddings - unless you're into that kind of thing lol) - saying that I've not been for ages, may have to go and have a look tomorrow...:D

LOL. I have a feeling you'll have something booked before Monday! Have fun! It's exciting choosing where to go isn't it?

Last year (for my 40th) Mum paid for me to have a holiday. I went with my two sisters. Anyway I could choose anywhere I wanted. I'm not into fancy hols - barbados, jamaica and the like (I don't mind flying but I can't stand the thought of being on there too long). The only three places I'd like to go was Morocco, to see the Northern lights and Prague. I chose Morocco because it was the furthest and only three hours on the plane. I poured over travel brochures for months. :rotfl:

I've just been thinking (ouch that hurt!)

How's everyone's studies coming along? DD1 has her last exam for Uni today. I wandered if you started breaking up for the year yet or do you stll carry on?

That is so weird as the three places you've said I'd love to go to, got Praque on my 40 things to do before I'm 40.... but think 40 will come 1st, been sods law as well the Nothern Lights, our local paper does an excurision, where you on plane for 3 hrs round trip to see the lights, but its always been when we've been down Devon in Nov.... maybe this yr.

The annoying thing I want to go back to Cyprus, but as just me and dd, she has to pay the adult rate, the hotel I went to it was actually cheaper for the 2 of us to go to Dom Rep.

What was Morroco like, sounds exotic, love tunisia, like a 2nd home. xx

Good luck for DD1, I submitted my 1st assisgnment with 10 mins to spare last ngt for my new course, got 6 hr tutorial 2mor at Wolverhampton, you don't have to go, but its exam Mid June, so should be helpful, unfortunatley as I am a gluten for punishment....this is my lovely schedule

Mid june - finish Business course
May to Oct - You anf your learning, bit weird as you do based on life lucky no exam, 1 assisgnent done 2 to go
May to Oct - Money course - 4 assisgnment 0 done
Oct - May (please do laugh!!!) I'm doing a Sports and fitness course 6 assisgments no exam - to get a foundatin degree I have to do another choice of course, I'm studying business, this was really the only choice I had
Oct - Feb - Small business course - 3 assisgments
Feb - oct - My 1st level 3 course, with an exam, if I pass all the others ant this I'll get a degree, year out fro original plan, wanted a degree b4 I was 40...

I have these bright ideas!!! xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
