Ordered eyes and noses for the football bears I am making the Grandsons for Christmas, cut out a blue and white and two red and white ones the other day and have some fur left over. Good jobI have.

My ex husband had been on holiday and bought the boys chelsea kits as gifts, one is over the moon as he is a chelsea fan but other one wasnt amused as he is an arsenal fan. Apparently he cried his eyes out but was told he has to wear it and be grateful!. Know where I would have told him to shove it if I had been there but there you go. The little lad was on his way round my house with my daugher and was worried what I might think of him being a "traitor" lol. Came in saying I like all football teams now Nanny, had to laugh. So am going to make up a few of the bears in each colours so if they change their minds I will have the right one. Thats as long as they dont end up going for something like west ham or wolves lol

Oh thats Awful rufus, can't men be blundering idiots LOL, now if he had been a woman he would have called and check what team they suppot, and how awful for your grandson.

I'm sure they will love the Bears though, they sound great, are they easy to make?

He knows well enough which teams they support, its just that hes a chelsea fan himself so everyone else has to be.

I used to make teddies years ago, havent made one for a long time now and lost the pattern I used to use. Have got a free one off the internet to try, made the pattern twice as big as it was so they are bigger bears. From what I can remember they are really easy to make, being fur you can get away with a lot as it doesnt really show. The eyes and nose are easy to do, you just make a tiny hole and push the stem through the fur then push a washer on the back which holds it tight. Just got to get them in the right place first time. Will post a pic when I have one done, hopefully in the week once OH goes back on days again and I can use the machine.

You all sound very busy. Not much done here!

Mary can I come with you on your break? When I come back the kitchen will be all done (I hope). ;) At the moment all we have in the kitchen is a tap (no sink) and a washing machine.

Just been to Tesco and stocked up on Microwave meals.

Antibiotics he's got don't seem to be doing much good (if any) so he's taking the extra packet with him and if he's no better when we come back it'll be back to gp's again.............they'll be naming a door after us soon........................lol
Least the weather looks like its going to improve for us...........I'm packing sweatshirts........can always wear two if I need two plus cardi.......................lol:rotfl:

Would love to take you and elysia but sadly no room in the storage bit of the coach:(

I now how that feels. Ours was worse than shocking and we'll be paying for it for the next 3 years. Sorry to keep on but I have no life and this is the most exciting thing to happen for ages. :rotfl:

You're doing well, so keep it up and the cc will be paid off in no time. :)

Our kitchen and bathroom are next to each other and we had to have damp proofing put in the walls which meant they had to take off the tiles from the outer walls. They said they could take all the tiles down right through if we wanted bathroom and kitchen and then re plaster all the walls so they looked nice and then we could get them done again at a later date which I thought was brilliant as the tiles in both the kitchen and bathroom were a horrid orange colour. They had to take out all the kitchen cupboards and sink and the bath to get to the outer walls and then when they were taking the tiles off the dividing wall it fell down and we were left with just one big room lol. All that was left in it was the toilet and a tap going over a bucket. They had to apply to their insurance and it took ages, we were left like it for about 6 weeks, was terrible.

They ended up building a new wall and making all the walls good with plaster etc but thats as far as it went, I wasnt going to re tile straight away as you had to leave the plaster to dry out for a while. They put all the kitchen bits back but I had someone else come and do the bath room as I bought a new white bath and toilet (the old one was orange to match the tiles).

Anyway, back to gifts, OH got up from his sleep yesterday after finishing his nights and wanted to catch up on Eastenders (cant stand the prog) so I went up and sewed up all the bits of the bears, they need stuffing now and I need the eyes and noses to come. Going to look out today for some pillows to use for stuffing.

Hello everyone. You all seem very friendly. Just wondered if you could help / advise me a bit? Am doing family baskets this year - have done a gardening one for one aunty & uncle; a cooking one for another; a warm hands one (complete with gloves and emergency candles) for another. Have some ideas for others - which include my home made marmalade. What I was looking for is some pointers as to where I could find patterns for egg cosies, tea cosies, cafetiere cosies that I can make from material to include.

I also have two young children - both boys one 6 and one 5. Would like to know what I could make them for Christmas in terms of toys and the like? I'm not brilliant at crafts, but I'll have a go, even if it looks a bit odd.

    Thanks for all your help.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
