Hello all :j
Just got back from a week away by the sea and visiting kids and grandkids.................now totally worn out !!!
Got some charity shop bargains while I was away (2 skirts and trousers), load of paper from a craft shop for family tree scrapbooks.......yet more buttons for button necklaces, oblong shape beer mats from one of the pubs I can do something with and some foam sheets for specs cases. Just need to get on and 'do' something now.......................lol
Seems like you've all been busy while I've been away:j
That sounds some major bargains, and glad you had a gd break, amazing what the sea air does, can't wait to see these glasses case, sounds a fab idea. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
mum2one - had bit of a disaster with glasses case today:eek: I got the foam sheets from Poundland.......sat and stitched beads all round the edge and when I'd finished found every little mark I'd made with fingernail etc. stood out !! Not helped when OH came in and said words to the effect 'wots that??'...........not words of encouragement..................lol - possibly not helped by the fact I'd used pink foam............lol
So............Plan B..........use foam as a liner for specs case and felt as the outer casing with flower or something stuck on it. Should be able to co-ordinate the colours on some at least...........(she says hopefully...........lol)
OH can't see why I have to stick a flower on but then he's a bloke................lol:rotfl:He'll not be getting one for Christmas anyway........................lol :rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi girls,
Funny thing the way we are about avoiding appointments, I'm like that too not only with hospital appts e.g. was given an xray open appt and never went. And I've put off seeing my gp about something for over a month. And don't mention the optician - 5 years now. My glasses have gone a bit green on the metal and I went to get a replacement but won't give glasses unless I have an eye test. Now, I've got a phobia about that because of the air puff test, so I won't go.
Mary, glasses case - foam covered in felt - that sounds like a really good idea.
On the subject of men and pressies etc. Even though ex and I have been seperated for 5 years, I still write all the Christmas and birthday cards to this relatives as well as getting the presents :rotfl: He's always saying that I don't have to do it so when I ask him to do it he refuses and says if it was down to him, he'd never send any.0 -
Hello all :j
Angela - you really must have regular eye checks.......that puffer thing isn't nice but can tell a lot to the optician.
Mammograms are another 'must have'...........we have a mobile unit come round and last year I went along expecting nothing to come of it then got letter saying something showed up:eek: Panic or what ??? But I went to the hospital, had another mammogram and biopsy and turned out to be nothing harmful at all -relief.......:o
Well, not doing much today............OH been touching up paintwork in spare bedroom for foster lad we've got arriving tomorrow for ten days.........been off the list for a while with illnesses and such like so think they're a bit desparate.
Really must organise my craft papers..........I seem to have them everywhere and now sons girlfriends given me a box of 'make your own christmas cards' thats another lot.......... Need bigger house...............lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I am another appointment avoider, or actually I don't really avoid, just forget! I haven't had an asthma check up for at least 4/5 years, they have now stopped me from having another repeat prescription till I have one, but I always forget to use the daily inhalers, so only use the emergency ones once every so often, so I have lots of them, pointless going yet LOL. And as for the HPV injection, I had the first one, and then totally forgot to make an appointment for 2nd, they now say I need the first one again, then wait another 6 weeks for the 2nd, I will just forget again! xx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0

What a lot we are! We take care of everyone else but not ourselves!
Christening went well yesterday. My goddaughter is gorgeous, and behaved impecably (she was only 1 last week). It was a long time in the church though as the were 5 being Christened, 4 kids and their Mum.
DD2 asked if she could be Christened now (it was always the plan but never had the money for a big family party afterwards) but could she not do it in a church as it was boring. I said she was just after an excuse for a party, she said not really - she just wanted a cake!!!I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Ah bless her, love dds excuse, I had dd christened when she was 7weeks old, bless her she looked like a porcelin doll, we had a mobile vicar, had it done at a local hotel. So funny, the vicar had brought a "lady" with him, couldn't work out if it was his wife, secetary or assistant. All through the ceremony she had this rainmac on, one of dds godparents, said has she got the venue right, as she looks like shes ready to strip the coat off and burst into a strip-ogram, couldn't look at her in the face for the rest of the afternoon! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
