Wow congratulations...... make mine a double vodka and coke.
PS - Hope u treat yourself to something nice xx
LOL. You can have anything you want. May have to buy wallpaper for living room. OH has started on the decorating. One room down, living room, dd2's room, and kitchen to go. Four weeks today, until our new kitchen is fitted so we have enough time to complete at least one before the kitchen fitters arrive.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Everyone will be very safe this month, Miss Hooide has temporary been banished to the side lines.:D...... as she wanted everyone to go up in their lofts and sort out everything from xmas decs to that box thats been stuck in the corner for years, and you never really know why it was there!
So we can all breath a sigh of relief....... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Wow, congratulations Elysia!! That's brilliant!
Good to here we're all safe from Miss Hoodie this month LOL, althrough I don't have a loft, and nothing is put in basement cos its damp, so really for me it would have been ok LOL!! xx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0 -
I re-discovered my cross stitching recently too. I used to do loads of it before I had my boy but then I was just too busy or too tired. I was tidying and found a big art deco lady I had started so I am now continuing that most evenings. It's the first big piece I'm stitching for myself, I just fell in love with the design. It will probably take me at least another year to complete though!
Had to smile when I read this Nicky - I bought a cross stitch kit when my DS was a couple of months old - I stupidly thought that when he was asleep I would do some - I did start but it was very slow going and it kept getting put away for quite a while and then brought out again - then I finished the picture and there was quite alot of french knots to do for snow (I hate them and cannot do them so gave up again) - finally I cheated and did a half cross stitch but you can't really tell unless you are up really close!! Anyway, considering everything it has taken me over 8 years to finish it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:but I am really pleased with it - it is a victorian street scene with a horse and carriage and the ladies and gentlemen out shopping, it looks really good - now I just need to find a really nice frame (let's hope that doesn't take as long).

LOL, well done! Luckily a few years ago we had our loft insulated and had to get everything out of there - it never went back up, so I would have got away with this one (most of it is on my wardrobe though!!) - can't put things back in our loft as it feels damp because of the insulation - not sure why that is but I don't want anything to get ruined up there.
Elysia - well done on your nice win - make sure you have a treat. :TThrifty Gifty February make £20 challenge £21.05/£20.0 -

elysia - :T well done on your win...........don't spend it all at once (mines a large latte................:p)
Plumbers been and now we have heat............oh bliss
Meant I could sit at the kitchen table and do my scrapbooking without shivering or pulling my sleeves down like wristwarmers...............lol Two more pages done..............would have been more had the plumber not been here so long.
Still, jobs done and I'm happy............:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Well done Mary - scrapbooks sound like they are coming along nicely. I'm glad heating is fixed too. Hung washing outside to dry today and it's just as wet when I brought it in than when I put it out.
Phew thank goodness Miss Hoodie has been banned this month. Mind you loft is OH's territory. He doesn't do anything with the garden and I don't touch the loft or the car (except to drive).
Well done Jane and Nicky for getting your cross stitches done. I bought that cross stitch for my Goddaughter (to be) but haven't even started! Christening is a week on Sunday so it will have to be for her Christmas present now.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Gave up on cross stitching last year..........I did have a go and did a little tea cup design and put it in a coaster for MIL's 'elevenses' box I'd done for her birthday but my eyes were popping out my head doing it .........doing think it's my thing somehow.
I do love to see it though.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

No I've not found a man, but can still dream!!
Remember all the hassle about what to get my darling mother for her 65th, the woman whohas everything, wants nothing, but she is 65 and your dad had x, y+ z.......
Today - she finally choose a present (even though spent nearly £200 on a dog vase and picture!!), a couple of yrs ago we had some free rail tickets, so ended up going to panto at Rhyl, signed up for the mailing list, she thought it was for our theatre, and they've got a show "Dreamboats and Petticoats", apparently its from the west end and she said she'd love to see it.....
So booked a matinee for me and her, thou got 140 mile round trip, but be worth it as its the only thing she has actually said she wanted.
Now me, love Hi-de-hi, grew up with it, our theatre has the production on with some of the original stars..... so weird as its when we in Towyn (sounds posher than Rhyl !!), and really want to go.. 140 mile round trip!! so debateing it......xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Janebo12: we had this problem when our loft was insulated. The damp is because there is not enough ventilation. You can buy small air vents which go into the wood that the guttering is attached to (can't remember the name sorry!). They are cheap and means you can start "hiding" things in the loft - translates to me buying Christmas presents and hiding them in the loft as it is "far too early to be buying Christmas presents" according to HubbieThe toast proposed at our wedding was for "health, wealth and happiness". Our family may not have the health and wealth but we make up for it with the happiness:D
