We had loads of trouble with damp in the frontroom, and had to get onto the landlord, when they eventually came out the guy spent hours removing the skirting board and putting it back on and said he couldn't understand where it was coming from, in the end he cleaned the wall down with bleach, left it to dry and then painted it with an anti fungal paint, which you can buy in B&Q we have since painted over it and touch wood it hasn't come back. It might be worth a try

We did that, then over the Winter it came back worse than ever! talk about depressing.

I ordered some Anthony Worrel Thompson saucepans off the Grebbit the other day. Couldn't believe the price - £1 plus £8.99 p+p. I expected them not to turn up :( but they arrived half an hour ago. :)

I bought them for OH's Nephew's wedding in August. If he opens them he'll think we won the lottery. RRP £200. They're so nice, I may have to keep them for the new kitchen. :D

We used to have these - have they got black non stick inners? They were fab for a while, but don't touch them with metal impliments!! Our potato masher made a right mess of them.

Bit of success tonight - Bethan went off to sleep on her own tonight! Without any fuss! Lets hope it's not a one off! lol

    Hello all :j
mum2one - that all sounds bliss;)

Couple of years back our hairdressers (salon attached) did a special offer at Christmas and OH -bless him-got me a voucher for £35 -2 hairs dos, manicure and pedicure, back massage(could do with that now!), facial and massage, eyebrows shaped -could have spray on tan but didn't bother with that...............lol
It was brilliant and I spread it out for a few months so I had a treat or two every month...........I keep asking them when they're doing it again but seems they're not........:(

Back still hurting...........feel sure its my sciatic nerve I did before...............put some washing in and debating whether I dare pick wash basket up..............thinking not ! OH will be home soon so he can do it........don't mind the stretching up to hang it out its lifting the basket and to take one thing out at a time........well I'll be there forever...................lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

As promised Miss Hoodie has been barred from suggesting a task, as she wanted the house done top to bottom, plus her bedroom decorated!! (think she wanted us all to do it for her!!)

    Santas Challenge

The moment we have all been waiting for, done a lot of thinking, as over the last few months, don't think that their has been a corner of the house that hasn't be touched!!

Changing tatics (just for this month as we have worked so hard already for xmas, take a mini back seat),

    Magic Task
I've decided to call it Magic task, as it could be fun and games, pick something that you haven't done, or would like to do (preferably in the house!!) no running down the steet starkers!! we all tackle something that we haven;t done,

For me - I'm going to alter my dress on the sewing machine, bear in mind its 3 yrs old (the sewing machine and never been out of the box,) ( the dress Ibrought out in the Gambia back in 2005, never wore it,only cost me £5,needs cutting in length+ hemming, then the remainder I promised dd I would make something for big boy (3ft stuffed dalamation toy)!

Another suggestion, as Jamtart took a break from the other thread, I put a suggestion on to make £20 in a month, and treat yourselves, (I'm heading to the local college), but thought be good for our thread.

    car Boot season
See if you have enough items for a car boot, better still see if you can double up with a friend and share the costs.

    Prevous Challenges
as the previous challenges have been a bit hetic, esp the bedrooms, the kitchen, the secret supply of craft items, use this month as a catch up month.

This is a true money saving treat, as we can't spend any money, the idea is you do something for yourself, whether its 1hr in the garden reading a book, taking the dog for a walk down a different route, maybe get free entrance to a local museum or attraction. Something for us.

We'r go back to the tradational Santas Challenge with the aim of getting something towards for xmas on next months, but as they say a change is as good as a rest.

I'm looking forward to hearing what treat, mse day/event you did.

    xx

(Ps just gone through adjusted the spelling!! blame it on the time!!)

No time to stop, but I saw a great deal for people making movie night hampers - Halfcost has ice cream chillers for 50p each on 3 for 2 - so you get 3 for £1.

As well as this, they have free delivery with a £10 spend till May 1st, and code FF15 gets you a 10% discount.

We're chaotic here, the baby's about to start crawling and we have to babyproof IMMEDIATELY. Plus Husband may be getting a promotion which means we'll be moving, which relieves me a lot because it means decluttering on a grand scale and more space as well. I hope everyone's doing well here?

    Hi all

Mum2One - thanks very much for the new challenge, I was looking forward to it. And it's perfect as there are some items I didn't finish from past months and I notice you've got a 'previous challenge' section.

    Result from March challenge

    1. me time- did crafting - collaging pages of pictures of flowers cut out from magazines and listening to audio book at the same time
    2. kids rooms - cleaning yes but one needs extra work
    3. carboot -no
    4. understairs etc - no
    5. emergency box - not exactly - did emergency sewing box
    6. medical box - re-did temporarily the Emergency details bottle to keep in fridge for paramedics - .need to do a final version
    7. cards - yes, got quite obsessed
    8. recipe - made up some recipes e.g. (mushrooms, onion, green pepper, brocolli - stir fried, added plain yoghurt, soya sauce) but didn't follow a new recipe in a book as originally planned.

Thanks for the new challenge Mum2One - for me it will be going back into the kids rooms to see if I can get them done properly - I seem to do one and the other one gets trashed, then the first one again - it is a never ending circle :rotfl:

Definitely want to get some me time in again - DH was so sweet the other night - I went upstairs and he had run me a bath and put candles all around - he even bought me a magazine to read! It was really nice! Must do that one again.
