Had a lovely weekend. Saturday we went hiking in the Lickey Hills near Birmingham. Probably about 20 miles from our house though. It was a gorgeous day.

Today I've done the front garden, so we look very respectable again! Nice and peaceful here, with the planes being grounded. (I live 5 mins from Birmingham Airport).

DD1 back to Uni tomorrow, and OH at work too. DD2 and Neice who I look after while my sister's at work, go back to school Tuesday, so will have chance to get some much needed jobs done.

I hope everyone is well. I'll speak to you all soon.

Spent the last hour catching up on the pages I hadn't read, it has relaxed me as been on a Business maths course today - could have cried, I felt like I knew nothing and was really stupid! Dreading day 2.
On Friday, I was parked outside school and a mum who was late piled into the side of my car, I've only had it six weeks! Luckily she has admitted liability and it is quite straightforward with the insurance, I was quite calm at the time, but got quite upset later!

Anyway yesterday I took my ds to football whilst DH spent the morning mowing the grass, weeding and generally tidying up the garden, he has been very MSE and made me some wooden troughs for planting veggies in, out of wood left over from the fence he made last summer. Have now got tomatoes and carrots coming, planted lettuce last night, and also sunflowers all free seeds or plants given by friends.
Did a flea market last week and sold a lot of the kids toys which was great. Made about £40 which I was pleased with as came back with 3 less Ikea bags than we went with so know we sold quite a lot! Going again in a couple of weeks with house hold items, and hopefully will make the same!

Need to sort out dd wardrobe and put away her winter clothes, sort out those that definitely won't fit her next year and get the summer ones at the ready. Need a productive ebay listing day but just haven't got the time at the moment!

    Hi Clare,

I think it's about $7 for the photobook if you want to buy extra. I don't know how much that is in £s. I'm not sure why the price is in $ as I'm sure it's a UK based company. With my free photobook I also got a voucher code for another free book! You can only use the code once, but it means I'm getting 2 free books this month :D I made one of my son as a birthday present to DH's mum.

I re-discovered my cross stitching recently too. I used to do loads of it before I had my boy but then I was just too busy or too tired. I was tidying and found a big art deco lady I had started so I am now continuing that most evenings. It's the first big piece I'm stitching for myself, I just fell in love with the design. It will probably take me at least another year to complete though!

Ah, that's fab, thanks Nicky. My cross stitch is still down the side of the setee though for now - far too knackered tonight. lol

Glad you have some heat mary!!!

Silly I know - but I wait up until 12 am to play the next days free scratchcard on the sites I'm on, just in case I forget during the day. I was waiting until clock struck 12 and while there I thought I'd have a go on the slot machine. OK it kind of defeats the object but it doesn't when you win!!!!

Lucky me - I stupidly thought it was £1 a go, until they took £4 off my account. First and only go, I won a couple of quid and 15 free spins, well I got up to about £15 and won another 20 spins, and then another 15. I just cashed out £190.

Sorry to everyone. I'm just excited and don't think I could sleep now if I tried! LOL.

Drinks all round. Everyone's having a double.

Bet penny to a pound there would be others in same boat, I was at tutorial on Sat, for OU course, felt like I was back at school, dreaded incase he asked a question, but touch wood got through it ok....

    Dreading day 2.

Oh heck on no,are you ok. Its weird though how we're at the time but afterwards it all comes out, think its the adrelin(excuse spelling), kicking in!
My 1st accident (write off - the steering locked on the car as I was driving, hit a mound of earth- like hitting a brick wall, only had the car 3 days and done 250miles (it was 2nd hand).......quite calm, got out the car, the front headlight was literally under the steering wheel, the roof buckled, door buckled and windsreen was held in by a miracle..... I refused to drive again (the AA came and rescued me), and this poor bloke took me back to the caravan site, my car on the back of the loader, everyone was going for alook, had the choice of 48hr car hire, they'd drive me back, or train ticket, opted for they'd drive me back, he was so funny, made me have a hire car, as he called me a typical woman - everything but the kitchen sink- but to this if it hadn't been for him, I'd of never of drove again.
The weird thing was my parents had brought my car back from the garage that I had part exchanged (for the price they brought it......added £400 onto it), I wouldn't drive him, for about 2 months I drove dads car, he drove mine (he loved it) then in the end, I took his car for part exchange, remember ringing him up, to meet me at the garage, I needed him to sign the paperwork, his 1st question was -what car am I having.....I then dropped the bombshell told him he was keeping my car and I was having another....... he agreed, even thou mine was older it was better nick, he had the car for 10 years!!

Anyway yesterday I took my ds to football whilst DH spent the morning mowing the grass, weeding and generally tidying up the garden, he has been very MSE and made me some wooden troughs for planting veggies in, out of wood left over from the fence he made last summer. Thats a brilliant sale, and good luck with the next one.

DD's wardrobes why are they always worst than ours, what I usually do with ebay, sounds mad but its worked for the last couple of years...... sell Winter stuff about Sept, then summer stuff do end of Jan early feb, as then ur getting the people who are going away Feb half-term onwards, and the shops don't cater, swimwear esp flies out.

    Hello all :j
Reading through all those challenges again I feel really guilty................not done them................apart from the birthday and christmas cards...........well up to date on them :T (pats self on back )
Oh, and being a bit on the lazy side.............always manage to get a bit of 'me' time.................:o

    So, thats two done......................lol:rotfl:

Today I was going to do a lot in the garden but its a bit too cold for me..............sun keeps disappearing and thats when it starts to get really cold............:(
So, I've done another page to scrapbook..........this time I've added an extra one to scrapbook no.one..............at this rate I'm going to confuse myself as to what I'm doing.....................lol
Googled for plastic cookware for grandson......cheapest mixing bowls I can get seem to be Wilkos.

rufus - hope its nice enough for your barbecue............good luck.............:T if it was me I'd need a coat on today

Yes I know what you mean Mary about the cold, I suffer badly from the cold. We had our barbeque and I lasted a couple of hours with just a cardigan on but then gave in and put my coat on. Others were sitting there in short sleeve t-shirts lol and there was me with padded jacket and cardigan. Still had a nice afternoon, played cards with the grandchildren and had a good time.

You are most welcome! I love pernod and black. Not so keen on strong coffee though.

DD2 most excited yesterday as her onions and carrots have started to sprout in her raised bed. Lettuces and peas haven't yet though, but we cheated and bought some more lettuce that has been started off so we don't get a lot all ready at the same time.

Still need to plant out the pepper and potatoes. We are turning into that program The Good Life - we only need a couple of chickens and a goat!
