I hit the sales today and have bought most of the birthday presents until October ( to be fair I'd already got a few in my stash from grabbits etc). I have Mum's mother's day and a couple of xmas presents too. I had a card making kit for Christmas so I can make the cards at very little cost. I might even wrap them all when the kids go back to school ready.

I've bought a notebook to write everything in so that's my project for this week before I forget who gets what. ;)

I downloaded my spreadsheet so I'm going to make my first entries on the 1st Jan. Get me - I start January every year but I've NEVER been this organised! Thanks so much for the encouragement. We CAN do this. :D
    I :heartpuls M.S.E.

  • Can I join in too please ? Thanks to the Grabbit board, I bought my presents through the year, spent a fraction of the cost and had a really stress free Christmas.

I have already got a box of presents ready for birthdays next year, so hope to gets lots of inspiration off here. Thanks in advance to everyone :T

I've made a start with a few 'unwanted' (there's always some) that I know will suit someone -next will be sorting out christmas cards and re-cycling what I can of bits and pieces from them.

Must make some sort of timetable for making things this year and sticking to it if its only 2 hours a day..........and give myself a realistic deadline to finish it all...........thinking maybe end of August was a bit rash:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and I shall join you if you dont mind, this year I plan to be money neutral for all gifts. Looking forward to hearing all your tips and tricks along the way:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • I would like to join too please. 2010 will be my year to be more organised

Can I make an organised for 2010 suggestion please?

I intend to spend this week making a list (not checking it twice...got another 364 days for that) of BIRTHDAY cards I need from now until next December.

I am a card maker so I will take a look at my "stock" and see what I have that can be used, and attempt to make the rest (plus a few spares) by the end of January.

I will also make 2 wedding, 2 sympathy and 10 thank you cards as well to have "in stock" and ready to go when needed.

They will all be written, addressed if necessary and put in a box.

I am going to go to the post office and buy a few book of stamps as I never seem to have any so that I have them in stock too.

As my wedding is in 2010, I have to be super organised with everything else so this is one step towards that!

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

Never thought of LLoyds - got some great bargains from in last xmas sale.

Superdrug online sale, some of their 3 4 2 is still on 3 4 2 on sale prices, this is only till Monday, but whether there reduce them better don't know.

I found I got more in Store early Jan, remember dd had gone back to school, it was around the time Boots had their 75% off, (hope they do this again) xx

So for the rest of you - what would you do differently next year![/QUOTE]

    POSITIVE
Have been very organised as brought most of the stuff by xmas,

Got dd's wii + games - she got everything she wanted. (big help with Amazon vouchers)

Got all presents wrapped and delievered (some had to go October).

    Negatives
Letting my mother help...... dd ended up with fathers Sat Nav...

She gave dd her wii on xmas day - meant to be saved for Boxing day

Waiting for her to help me wrap - She helped on the 5th day

My darling father brought all the boxes down from, loft + out shed (can't lift) - he got them muddled up, so everyones that was organised was at the bottom and the extras were at the top.

    What would I change
In all honestly not that much, bar wrap a lot earlier, (thou this yr had 1st OU exam Oct, got Swine Flu Nov)

    Wrap alone -safer!!

    xxxx

A big wecome to the new friends on the thread,

Love the gift list Jamtart, and def agree with the plan a week idea.

I'll do my list and budget 2mor.

Got a few recycled presents, a big box of overbuys from last yr, (in loft - daddy darling) and ordered from Marks and Spencers, couple bits Argos, look at Superdrug, Llloyds and Halfcost.... then wait to go into town, holding for Boots 75% sale.

Got to review to get more Amazon vouchers, need 1 more controller, 3 motion plus and I'm sure dd has her eye on a few more games. xxx
