Hi everyone, Im not very good at posting on a daily basis because I lurk on so many threads but I'd like to give this one a bash-I'm due a baby in September :jSo I cant see myself getting much done after that. (Yes, valentines day is 6 weeks away-the end of my first trimester:D)I plan to spend the next 8 months doing as much flyladying, thrifty giftying and getting organised as I can. We already have 1 DS so I want to do as much as I can beforeI get too tired.

Think I'll attempt to be a lot more organised this year -say that every year............
Cards will get sorted once decs. and cards come down then they'll be done out of the way.
Go through list of things I didn't get around to doing/making this year and try and get them done.
    Make more decorations
Thankyou letters been done...........almost........some have been phone calls or e mails -few hand written ones still to do.
Try and organise spare bedroom so that I can see whats in there and not just look at a pile of 'stuff' - and who knows..........might need to use the spare bed sometime...............lol

Can't think of much else at the minute but I bet there's loads.

New Years resolutions are next to think about.........
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Hi Everyone
Could I join in as well please?

I have been reading this thread since it was first posted and having subscribed to this and a few other threads on this board (very addictive I may add!!) I now have loads of ideas for myself and for my work (I'm a Nursery Nurse) for the year ahead :D

I took some advice from these boards and wrote down in a notebook, who I need to buy presents for for birthdays and Chrstmas in 2010 plus the maximum I want to spend per person.
I bought my wrapping paper for next year from Tesco yesterday. I also attacked the Boots sale yesterday and I have managed to get about 1/4 of my presents for next Christmas and wrapped them today :)

I am also going to attempt to make some cards for next year, and try to get into survey sites and dooyoo, found them quite boring in the past and have not been able to get into doing them.

Ok, I've gone through the bits and pieces I've bought in the sales, and shall be looking through the Emergency Gifts Drawer sometime this week as well.

I have made a spreadsheet showing the RRP and paid price as well as who it's going to be going to.

Including wrapping paper, cards etc, the current totals are:

    Birthdays

    RRP: £56.74
    Actual Spend: £21.74

    Christmas 2010

    RRP: £149.94
    Actual Spend: £55.11

Once I have received cashback for these from Quidco (Only owed a few pounds, but it all counts!) I will reduce the actual spend by this amount. I will do the same for any other money received from Ebay etc.

Now, I should really go and tidy the kitchen which is what I've been avoiding while making spreadsheets :D

  • Toochoosey- I think this is why these threads are great. Something that could be mundane is made to be a little exciting. Never a bad thing.

  • don't we all.

I like trying to be organised now as I know that in the middle of summer when the sun is shining outside, hopefully, thoughts of Christmas aren't on my mind and I don't want the mad rush in November.

    Hello all

Some great ideas popping up already :j

I went to the sales today, M&S have some really good reductions. Good old Boots were pretty good too.

I got 12 Birthday presents, all of next years Christmas cards including "special cards" Mum&Dad, Aunte&Uncle and the like , 4 large rolls of wrapping paper that wasnt christmassy to be used through year for Birthdays, Mothers Day, la la la. Im really pleased. Going to pop back later in the week and get a few more Birthday presents as I just couldnt carry it all, going to take the pram next time! :rotfl::rotfl:

This Christmas I managed to be well under budget for presents so aim to be the same next year if not better.
I am going to get back into my surveys as the vouchers came in really handy.
I will buy presents in the sales or as I see something someone would like as I am sure they hike the prices up in November.
Sealed pot is up and running, will open that in December 2010 for 2011  January sales for Birthday presents

I too got an organised Mum diary so will be keeping that up to date with my purchases.

Loupoppins - Good question! I think I would like to give more homemade gifts next year and yep write into the plan the chance of snow!

Going to go and wrap the Birthday pressies now, hmmmmmm maybe a brew
(or wine!) first as this being organised lark is thirsty work!!
