Hi all - new members and regulars.

After posting earlier today about things that hadn't gone according to plan this year, I just remembered two strange things -

    1. Christmas Eve I looked in the airing cupboard for my tableclothes and napkins I used last year - they had been put together, straight after washing and hadn't been used since. However, when I went to lay the table they were miles too small

    2. A similar thing happened with one of the presents - last year everything seemed to be simple with it, this year it was complicated. I thought I'd done exactly the same as before.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with doing identical things to last year but having problems this year?

I don't know if you are all aware, but the Organising Christmas website that is inspiration to these threads, has an opt-in email, so you will be receiving regular emails from December onwards as well as a few earlier in the year.

At the moment they are daily e.g. today's tip is to go round your home and take photos of your decorations and write them up in a notebook so you will know what to do for next year.

I'm in ... I want to get back to my old way of being so organised I'm completely done (except for baking) by December 1st ;)

I'm off to do the money thing now.. I know I have to stick to a very tight budget for the next year as I'm trying to pay off my overdraft :o

    I'm quite enjoying being organised!

Spreadsheet is now set up with information about who is getting what and how much it has cost.

I have also braved the spare room (Can't see the bed at the moment!) and allocated a chest of drawers for Christmas stuff. I have been through this years gifts to me and recycled one (Nail polish set despite the fact I have bitten my nails since I grew teeth!) into the drawer to go to a well-manicured friend in the New Year. I was wondering though, do any of you feel guilty about recycling gifts?

My plan for tomorrow is to take down the cards and see which ones I can use for gift tags/card making.

*edit* I picked up some jewellery in the M&S Penny Bazaar and think this will go to aunties for birthdays. Excellent!

    Xmas Saver!
A big hello to the new friends and a big hello to returning friends, my big plan - it to be organised by 1st Nov..... (that is unless I get tempted by the Boots and Argos offers!!).

So far for 2010 - done a min marks and spencers order £40, there all presents, got 8 reservations at Argos, gave up in the end, put something in the basket, add another item and the 1st would be out of stock.... the store was so sweet they've extended the collection date for me.

Halfcost - have a 3 4 2 Christmas sale - think the FF15 discount still works, (quick tip - before putting the discount code in, make sure they have't put any in).

Argos - have added more items to the sale, says changing weekly, new catalogue comes out on 23rd.... good value luggage sets reduced.

    Boys - 4 piece football set - £19.99 reduced to £6.66
Ladies - Hawaii or flower boom suitcase sets £45 rediced to £15.

    Worth having a peep xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Hello all

Some great ideas popping up already :j

I went to the sales today, M&S have some really good reductions. Good old Boots were pretty good too.

Wooooo thanks for the info, I will go there first thing tomorrow!
