I have tried 3 time to register with AVG 'Lavasoft' for the serial number for installing the AV software, but for somereason i am not getting my email. I have checked my hotmail junk mail box too. Has anyone else experienced problems with obtaining a serial number?

I have bought a laptop recently and am trying to install all this virus protection. However the grisoft and symantec websites won't display on the internet. Why is this ?

I haven't had a problem although i didn't use a hotmail email address. Try using your work one or set up an account at mail.com ???

to start define 'won't display on the internet'
also what operating system have you got
do you have any firewall
do other websites work

give a complete software spec for a proper answer

Unless their mailserver is down for some reason, the only failures I have seen were where there was a typo in the email address.

You could try emailing technicalsupport@grisoft.com

thanks, managed to get the serial no, but had to use another hotmail account, as it would not send for some reason to my usual hotmail account.

I have installed Kerio as the firewall. But I have tried disabling it an it does not help. Some pages do appear e.g. Martins page and the kerio page.

But I get the 'The page cannot be displayed' message, with the symantec and grisoft sites. The addresses are correct becuase I copy them from this site and I have tried them at work, and then are ok there too.

Any ideas ?

What ver of IE have you got? Goto help/about internet explorer.
Can you goto http://www.tangle-wood.co.uk site ?
Are you on Broadband or modem?

What does it mean when you turn on your pc and you get a blue screen and it says checking files for consistency? Is it anything to worry about?

At which point does it say that?
At bios
Before windows loading screen
after windows loading screen but before login
after login screen

Also what else does it say ? The more detail the better so PM and we can keep this topic on track
