If you're feeling adventurous then delving in the cushion gaps in trains, buses and pub banquette seats can be very rewarding (the last especially on a saturday or sunday morning.. once found £2 in one delve!)
Would also be a good way to get various dirty things on your hands. :rotfl:0 -

That is what I meant. When you pick up a "copper" coin in the street these days, you have to be quick before it goes too rusty.
With the rise in the price of copper, our coins became worth more than their face valu, just as happened with the silver and gold ones after WW1.
Now we make the "copper" ones out of steel.
No prizes, but use a fridge magnet to work out the switch over year.0 -

Yep - hence only for those feeling adventurous!!!0 -
I always pick up any coins I see left lying around on the floor....you never know when you might need them.
One story that still makes me chuckle.....my dh and I went to a concert with friends and after a few drinks in the pub we decided to hit Burger King before the gig. As we went in my friend spotted £20 on the floor of the BK...nobody seemed interested so she said that this note would pay for us all to have food...fab idea but to this day my dh and I are sure that the £20 note came out of her dh pocket...he was first in the queue and was busy ordering looking at the menu and chatting to his wife....Grocery spends £193.44/ £70 per week or £303 per month0 -

I'd be very wary of doing that. On a local bus here, someone had kindly left a hypodermic needle wedged between the seats.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
How much would it have to be for anyone to hand it in to the police?0

I seem to recall a tale that Bill Gates would loose money if he bent down to pick up a tenner as he earns more in the time it would take!
Probably much more.........0 -
