'Would you bend to pick up a penny?' poll discussion

I used to work in a furniture shop and every evening, particularly Saturdays, we used to check the display sofas for loose change that had escaped from customers pockets. It always paid off. Now I work in a College and the students must drop change by the bucket load as I 'm always picking it up in and outside the building.
It all goes in my piggy bank.

It would be interesting to see what difference would be made to the results of this poll if it wasn't an empty street.0

There is a bloke locally who goes around looking for cash on the ground all the time, he is not destitute lives in a det bungalow doesn't work dresses well etc. I see him more in the summer time he does the rounds a few times a day, his eyes are constantly on the ground. He has a circuit that covers car park meters etc anywhere he can find cash. When he has enough he goes and buys the discounted food at the supermarkets. Fair play to him.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0

I pick up anything from 1p and up.
In fact, I wish more people were ashamed of picking up coins from the street, there'd be more for me then. :-)0 -
When I was young, we used to glue coins to manhole covers, then laugh at people when they tried to pick them up.
Almost inevitably someone would return with a spade/screwdriver to chip them off.
A bit like what these lads have done - I am surprised how easy people give up when its a whole £1 on offer!
