Today (as it's dress down Friday), I have on black skinnies, a black/grey print top, grey cardi, necklace and a pair of red shoes! The thing about the shoes is, they've been lying un-worn in my wardrobe for SIX years, I even remember where and when I bought them (the last time sis and family were over from Canada), also know how much they cost as the label was still on them! They're lovely as well, although not sure about having 'we're off to see the wizard' sung to me all day, ha!

Have a free weekend so going to be ruthless and sort wardrobe out once and for all, and write a list of anything I need to replace or buy to update something I have.

What a great idea :) Then have a little book in your handbag of the things you need to buy, so when your feeling a little "need a fix" you can look for something you NEED out of there :D I think I may have to do this :)

For the last few years all i have done is go shopping. while my children were growing up i never had hardly any clothes my ex was an alcoholic. i have battled with depression for years. when the children grew up and started working. i split with ex. i had more money to spend on myself and went overboard even using a cc. i was also doing it when bored or to cheer myself up till it got out of hand. i was spending way too much and getting in debt. i would spend at least £100 in one shop all very bad. i have clothes stuffed in drawers and wardrobes still with the labels on. i was so lucky too find this challenge with your help i have managed too stop spending. i also have taking up some hobbies. so far so good but its only janurary still along way to go but i'm very happy with it so far. thank you lula for starting this challenge and too everyone else for all the surport.

    Hi gilly41,

when you post your reply press 'go advanced', and it will bring a tool bar up at the top of the post. From there you can choose sizes, colours, U for underline, I for italics and' B' for bold.

Block the word you want to change the size of, like this, and click size and choose a size from the drop down list.

Likewise with the colour, block your colour and choose from the drop down tool next to the capital A.

Hope that makes sense, and helps.

ETA, if you put a quote in your reply, then you don't need to 'go advanced' as the tool bar is automatically there.

Is it cheating to ask if I can join from February onwards!?

Given I've mostly spent the budget in January alone  . Justifying it to myself by saying it was christmas money, sales and charity shops! But charity shops are difinitely my weakness! I need to start buying what I need only!

Spending diary started yesterday but I reckon I need more than that to keep me on the wagon :D

Hello all ..I thought I would pop in before I forget to add the fact I bought a black top today in a charity shop ..for the whole value of £3.00 .which was originally in quiz at £24.99 ..and is still in there now on a sale for £15.00 ..Im starting to like looking in charity shops for bargains . I also purchased 2 nice necklaces to go with the top and some earings , which came to a pound each { brand new and handmade } :)
Hope you all have a lovely weekend ..and I keep saving :D

I bought a vest top today which will make me wear three tops which Ive ignored since the vest top got stained : )

so £66.40 left for me after spending £4

but have to say thats it now!no more shopping till summer I hope!

I dont need anything else as Ive 'shopped' from what I already had.I have a pile of things which dont fit now so I think I will ebay some and 'try' to alter some of the things I cant bear to part with
