Rosemary, sorry to hear about teeth agony.

I have some spends to declare from the last couple of weeks:
£5.98 two pairs of jeans, one wide leg Espirit, one skinny bootleg topshop
£3.99 mamas and papas white and gold sequin maternity dress (not pregnant or trying :rotfl:)
£2.49 asos bold print maternity t-shirt (ditto :rotfl::rotfl:)
£2.99 breton striped vintage jumper with gold buttons on sleeves, posh old school brand I can't remember right now! V warm and quite long so have worn a lot already!

    Total £15.45

The maternity clothes were a bit random, but I am hoping to start ttc next year, they were absolutely gorgeous, cheap and in great condition so worth picking up now.

  • I'm the same I really wanted to replenish my wardrobe when I was away last weekend in Brighton. We walked around the shops for about an hour, it was pack & freezing so the experience was less than fantastic. The stuff in the shops was far from inspiring & what I was prepared to pay would have only brought me tat and going through my mind was I could get much better quality stuff at a price I was prepared to pay on ebay!

with that in mind I puchased a coat £24.99 & a tunic dress £4.95 yesterday

ooooo realised £20 of my coat costs was my birhtday money so doesn't count :j

    Hi Lula-Hula,

Long time no hear. Sorry I've been awol.

I saw you over on the Sealed Pot Challenge 4 and it prompted me to pop over here and update you.

I think I've pretty much gone over budget this year, in fact I know I have, as amongst over things I had to buy a new winter coat as mine finally gave up the ghost. This year would have been it's sixth year anyway, so I can't complain.

Anyway I'm still pretty chuffed as I think that as I was so under budget last year and all things considered, over the 2 years I'm still under the 200.00 gbp allowed.

Anyway, best wishes to everybody in the run-up to Christmas, especially if you're still needing a new Christmas outfit.

    Toodles
  • just bought a black cardie for £8 in Asda making my new total £178.34

so now I'm getting to this point & I still have quite a bit left of my budget for the year & I might go to the shops in the sales and get some clothes :j

  • Hello all !

Well I went to my DD1 clothes "swap shop" at her uni(they made £300 to help them put on their final end of degree show) - but because I ran out of time trying to arrange a kids Christmas party for the next day,I totally forgot to take the stuff I was going to swap! aggh!

Anyway you could still buy stuff that there was to swap so 1 swap token equaled £1, a 2 swap token equaled £2 etc so I need to declare

    £2

This is for two tops- one a stripey little black and grey top with satin side bow on the neck and a summery long top.

But I took her two younger sisters with me and they both had me buying stuff for them so in the end I spent £4 on each of them( and apparently we bought back some of DD1 ones stuff but with out realizing until she pointed it out!) but at they don't count and the money did go towards the uni fund for the show.

Great idea and it worked so well they are doing it again near Easter - not just students went but lots of ladies from the town turned up and it was really well organized and well received. A lot to the sudents were bringing lots of clothes in and seemed really happy with what they were taking away.

Made a change from a normal Christmas fair or buying Christmas draw/raffles to make money.

Don't need to find/buy the Christmas outfits as the do's were can celled! So that's helped too!

Well, I bought a dress for Xmas Day and will probably work for NYE too, from George at Asda, Red with a sparkly 'belt' effect and

    £16

I'm quite pleased with myself this year in one way, all my spends have been on stuff for my holiday this year, I went trekking in Nepal in October so all my spends were technical t-shirts, walking trousers, waterproof jackets etc. Or else things for the gym to train for it!

So this purchase was my first this year which was frivolous so that is a good thing!

However I've come to realise that clothes weren't my nemesis. I seem to always find something to splash out on, this year has been the year of homewares......aargh!

I seem to love spending!! my only solution is to not go to the shops and also not to click onto those lovely shopping websites!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

back to the dentist yesteday but think he has finally fixed the tooth(after 4 visits!!!) cancelled my 6 month check up for Feb so hopefully will not see him till june:)

of course as it was my birthday week and to make up for trip to dentist I had to do a bit of retail therapy:)

bought a beaded evening bag half price at CC and a red chiffon skirt from Alexon down from £60 to £18 which will be lovely for dancing:):):)
  • Aww glad the dentist trips are all done now Rosemary - I have all that to look forward to in Jan as I now need a crown (for once I listened and took out ins so only have to find the Techs fees of about £70 -bad enough but better than forking out hundreds straight after Xmas)

Guess who went late night shopping last night? - managed to do pretty well for presents -DD2 & 3 managed to buy what they wanted but walking through (yes walking through, no intention to buy)New Look I spied a fab just above the knee winter dress.........it just needed me in it to make it look even better!lol!

Its Fuzzy charcoal light woolen mix, round neck, with a sweet little self same material dress bow to the neck side with a bit of diamante in the middle of bow, and at the bottom the pattern rises of winter greys and whites/little smudge of black of peacock feathers.

DD's actually said they have been amazed at how well I have done this year and agreed that I would get plenty of wear out of it "as it was just right"

It did take me ages to think about actually parting with my money......

Anyway to cut to the chase I bought it................ so

    £24.99 :whistle:to declare please Lula.

They also said that this year I have bought anything its been a "wise" buy - and I have to agree I have thought about what I buy - actually this year I have probably bought more full price items (ie 3!)than I ever had in years! But only because I have thought about why I was needing that item of clothing in the first place.

Anyway this dress will see me through the festive period either with fab bright tights and heels and a throw or jeans & low boots with a cardi - and then my DD3 said I could get away wearing it for weekends (I was thinking more for work study days and meetings)so it is going to be working hard in my wardrobe this winter!:rotfl:

    Hi Ladies

Due to a very dry spell with spare cash and only a need for basics (and shoes), I have still only spent £61 on clothes this year- very pleased with myself- I will be debt free by the middle of next year so probably won't follow the challenge officially, but it has shown me I only need clothes when they no longer fit or fall apart!

Have a great Christmas and New Year all
