    Hi all

Still haven't bought any more clothes but as I'm gradually destroying all the one's I have I'll have to do something soon.

I threw bleachy stuff down my purple T-shirt, one of the stripey tops I bought at Christmas has gone short and wide (hate that!) and a couple of the cotton T-shirts I've bought have got pale lines on them which don't wash out (does anyone know what causes this?).

I also thought I'd have lost a bit more weight by now and be able to wear a couple more things I already have but this hasn't happened (perhaps waiting for the flab to melt away by itself doesn't work :()

So I'll have to go shopping soon - maybe some Summer stuff. I thought maybe a dress - dark, flowery, cheap and easy to wear - any suggestions please?
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
  • Hi all!
I had a FABULOUS weekend as it was my birthday! Too much celebrating though so it cost a small fortune  I haven't sat down to work out how much yet though! Everything was moneysaving (£42 hotel room 4 me & OH, theatre & comedy night tickets bought on lastminutedotcom, free art galleries and museums, half price cocktails :rotfl:etc) - but I did a lot so it added up!

Anyway, clothes wise, I have £14.99 to declare on an essential black cardigan that I have needed for ages! Happy with this as it was on my "list of things I'm allowed to buy" as opposed to "list of things I'm lusting after"!!!

That's £41.99 spent for me! Going to have to try to only spend £8 from now until the end of June then I'm at the halfway point with money and months! I'm just going to have to STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOPS!!!!

Have broken my duck of spending on clothes, but it was on a bra (£18) which was needed due to having lost some weight and sadly it seems it went from a part that can't afford to lose much  But hopefully that will be it for a while.

I do various surveys too - I do the PineCone ones which are great as they pay really quickly and you always get paid when you do one (Lightspeed and Valued Opinions often let you get part way through and then you find out you're not suitable ).

Have a little paypal balance stashed away :)
I too love pinecone as they pay instantly and you get to try stuff(ok my last was a bottle of bleach, not v exciting but did answer ?s on make up recently so hears hoping!)f you can get on consumerpulse it is v good as it is not surveys but you imput items you have bought for points for high st vouchers ....to buy more clothes of course:rotfl::rotfl:)

had a Bravissimo catalogue through the post last week and thought about buying new bras but then remembered 2 I bought from la senza last summer and not worn as too tight.wore 1 for 2 days and will machine wash(I know they say don'e but I want it to strectch a bit)and will try the other soon I have to be careful to choose the right time tho e.g not when going out for a meal as would get indigestion:rotfl:

went to see new film The Ghost on sat,did not like the end tho:(...should have seen clash of the titans:rotfl:also the 20.20 showing started the film at 20.55!!!!!:(still it was using the cineworld £1 deal from a few weeks ago so cheap night out

    Hi Lula,
I've not bought anything since my last report.

I did find a white Papaya skirt in the CS but DH kindly paid the £2.50 :T it's currently sitting in the ironing pile :(

Went wedding dress shopping with DD, fortunately she didn't find anything she liked as much as the £250 Ebay dress, so that's £290 for 2 bridesmaids & a wedding dress :j ...now I have till next April to find a suitable MoB outfit

I'm pretty sure vandalising your clothes in order to buy more might well constitute cheating ;):D.

No idea what cause those lines, I'm afraid.

Popping in to say I've accidently been very good today - wrote down 3 ebay numbers to check pretty dresses for wedding in July... then forgot all about them today. Obviously I wasn't that bothered! :D

Sometimes its to do with your iron and ironing board, do you have a clean iron? Is your ironing board wearing thin?

    :j:j:j:j I am soooooooooooooooooooo excited! :j:j:j:j

I loaded up the first photos of my wardrobe onto www.thebigwardrobe.com and only registered as a swap user (I locked myself out of paypal. You need to pay £1 month to swap unlimited items a month and to sell as well as swap).

For some reason, I thought no-one would be that interested. But I've already had a messsage asking about an Asos dress with a stuck zipper! And the person asking has millions of things in her wardrobe that I'd like! I feel like a kid in a candy shop!

I had to reply saying I was a scared newbie and what happens next! But I may just have free new clothes winging their way to me soon!

And if it works, then here's to a free, world-wide, ever-revolving wardrobe! :D

All you fabulous frugalista's must have a nosey! :D

(Did I mention my excitement!) :j:j:j (And I haven't even completed the swap yet!)

Nic scary your first swap - might i suggest it does cost a few pence more but ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS send recorded. It is common practise that as the newbie you will be asked to post first, dont worry standard practise :)

Oooh, NGlady, I guess you must be a seasoned pro then! Fab - some-one to keep me on track and help me learn the ropes! You'll probably undestand how excited I am by my first little swap then! :D

I think I''m going to join to the "Friends of" thing up so I can swap more and sell too. Just as soon as I stop locking myself out of all my accounts because my passwords keep running away from me!
