    Hi folks,
Haven't been on for a while but I have bought a dress and a pair of jeans from Primani today so can you please knock off £21 off my total which I believe now makes a total of £89 left.

    Thank you Lula- Hula:)

It's the charity Ball in a couple of weeks and am still intending to wear the bright fushia long dress that I got off freecycle- but I need a wrap or cover up- I have scoured my wardrobe for evening tops and have found the following

    2 Black Evening cardie things
    1 Black shrug
1 white fluffy -fur type jacket/shrug
    1 black & silver cardie.

The black stuff looks too stark aginst the pink and the white one is fine but too warm to keep on indoors when I get there.

Was thinking of buying a metre or so of nice fabric (silk/organza) type to make a wrap maybe in a nice green colour(I was thinking of a contrasting colour)- Not sure though.

What shoes are you wearing debbiedeejay? Teal springs to mind for a gorgeous contrast :D.

Hi can I join in please? I have loads of clothes and need to make room for my OH who is moving in soon, so need to wear out/sell some clothes!

Im going for £100 for the year, like a true MSE'er I have a spreadsheet with on my spends and this year I have spent:-

    £5 + £9 on trousers for work
£29.99 on a new coat for work
£34 in asda on new pants (desperately needed)
£60 on sports bras (which I have managed to get work to pay for - if you don't ask you dont get!)
£11 on fleece tops for work

but as all of these are for work or underwear (or both) they don't count! :j

the trouble is my favourite pass time is staying at home in my Pj's or spending time in the garden in old clothes so now I have a great excuse to do more of the same!

I bought leggings in the supermarket today - for yoga and as part of my mystery shop. I'm not sure whether to include them as the cost of them will be covered by the mystery shop fee. Though technically only £1 is reimbursed for purchases... so if we're including them, they were £5-£1 reibursement = £4....

I'm wondering if I should have had a "me clothes" and a "gym clothes" budget! As soon as I get another pair of decent jogging bottoms though, I shouldn't need any more "gym clothes".

Niccatw - Have you been looking in my wardrobe???

You have just reminded me I have a pair of teal mid height peep toe & bow satin shoes!!!
Bought from Primani sale probably 2-3 years ago still have the tag that keeps them together- knew they would be useful one day! They were so pretty and I loved the colour but never wore them - will have to find them and see if the length of dress is ok with them -now if they look alright its just a matter of finding a wrap in teal!Or I could dye one????Have a couple of cream ones.

    Niccatw -Your're a genius! Thank you!:T

Well I have been good all year until today. I found a perfect pair of summer shoes at west one reduced from £75 to £39.

I really struggle to get shoes in the right size and with the right heel, so although this is a big chunk of my budget they will be worn to death. So although they are expensive they are worth every penny.

Will have to be careful now but if i'm honest theres not much i need. So that a total of £42 spent for me.:o

I am a very bad woman who has fallen off the wagon in a big way and i hang my head in shame:eek::eek::eek:

I went to town to East as had a 20% off coupon and ended up spending £125:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:this bought me a merino wool long s s cardi (sale),2 linen ls shrugs, and 2 stretchy vests, does not sound much I know but East is expensive,I also got a sweet pair of poppy red flat shoes but they dont count and I am so pleased to have found shoes to fit as I have awful probs with them.

I am now set up for my hols in 4 weeks:)I will quite understand if I am thrown off the challenge and would like to thank you all for your support so far this year.I don't think it has been a waste of time as it was never about money with me,more buying things I didn't really need,I am now much more discerning about what i do buy and actually put quite a few items back that a while ago I would have bought as they were in a sale!

off to "fess" up on toiletry challenge now:rotfl:

    Hello all,

sorry to disappoint you rosemary54 - but NO ONE gets thrown off the challenge :p so, you either stick around & keep confessing your luscious spends or you bow out gracefully - please dont though, I like to live vicariously :D.

Farewell & thank you for your time spent here to verynewmoneysaver

Hello & welcome to newcomers Winchelsea & Sallymander :hello:.

Happy New Clothes to elfen, sarahangel & Happy New shoes to Picasso2 :j

Loving the teal & fuschia combination, 2 of my favourite colours :)

Off to update the list again ... ;)
  • This is harder than I thought! :( I hardly ever buy new clothes so I thought this challenge would be a breeze. But so many of my clothes are very old and starting to look it and I really am going to need to replace some basics this year. Also, my underwear and bras are in shocking states and they will need replacing too. And to top it all off I am finally losing weight and have already had to buy some new jeans in a smaller size as my current jeans kept falling down and were baggy and horrid! The weight loss is a good thing, I know, but it's not going to help with the challenge.
So another £24 for a pair of jeans and a pair of linen trousers from M&S have been added to my sig.

Had a little clear out (very little actually, can't bare to be parted with lovely things that I don't wear at the moment, so will be pack away for a while and come out in a year fresh and new to me!) so some things went on eBay.

So I have an additional credit to add of £3.18! :j

Doing well so far. But oh Rosemary54, I can see myself falling off just like you did. So easily done :p
