  • Birmingham shopping yesterday, no new spends!! Found I couldn't even be bothered frankly and the current tat in Primani, well, less said the better! Did buy daughter some t-shirts and underwear because she has grown about 2inches since Christmas! :( But that doesn't count!!

The force of Lula is strong in this one!!

Don't know if I should mention this (putting temptation in everyone's path!), but popped into Debenhams yesterday as I have a voucher for there (was planning on getting sis a birthday present, ooops) and the remnants of their sale shoes had been reduced to 70% off AND were buy-one-get-one-free. There was only one style in my size I liked so planning on selling the free pair on ebay. So £7.50 for 2 pairs of shoes, paid for with a voucher so doesn't count for this challenge, and will hopefully make a bit on ebay too. Feeling rather pleased with myself! :) And shoes are v pretty...

  • Hi. Took my jeans back to M&S yesterday so my spends are just below £100 now. I know! Have just signed up for Race for Life and ordered t-shirt for it. I think I can justify this. I'll do some ebaying though to get some more credit!

  • Thank you for adding me - it gave me an extra incentive NOT to buy "that top"!
Only problem now is that my birthday list consists almost entirely of vouchers for clothes stores!

I can stil proudly say I have spend NOTHING on clothes this year!

I knew it would happen....went to Cardiff at the weekend and ended up spending £30 on a dress

It is absolutely gorgeous though and can be glammed up or grunged down so a rather versatile purchase....

Total spend now at £40....Lula, I apologise!

  • Thanks for adding me Lula :j Am excited to be part of this crazy gang!
It's really inspirational reading about everyone's willpower and bargainous thrifty shopping, so thanks to you all.

I have already rediscovered quite a few things in my wardrobe which I'd totally forgotten about, and once I've tackled my washing, hand-washing and mending piles I will have even more clothes to play with. Have started thinking about how I can combine items into 'new' outfits - certainly have enough accessories to rotate all year!

The three weddings I've been invited to this year are three separate groups of friends/family so in theory I can wear the same outfit for all 3 :D with slight modifications as 2 are in May and 1 is in October.

At the moment the only thing I am in real need of is a pair of jeans - I have 3 pairs which fit me, but over the last few months 2 have ripped beyond repair (I have tried!) and the 1 pair I'm living in (light blue, bootcut) needs the button replacing. I want to replace my black skinny jeans as I lived in those, so that is my only planned purchase for the foreseeable future. If I can lose a few more pounds I have a virtually new pair of DP black bootcut jeans waiting in my drawer - they are the size below what I can currently get into!

Sorry to blather on, but it helps to put things down in writing as it helps me focus, and reminds me that I am accountable to you lovely lot for any spending!

Well done to all for continuing to resist/shopping thoughtfully - keep it up ladies! :A
  • Hi Lula-Hula,

Please can you add me onto this thread. I'm brand new to these forums and this challenge really caught my eye as I'm a sucker for clothes and I buy so much stuff that I don't really need and end up broke every pay day!!

I also give huge sacks of clothes I don't wear to my family so can't justify buying anymore. It's a running joke with my family that I buy a top EVERTIME I go shopping!

Can you put me down for £100 until 31 December 2010!

    Cheers :rotfl:

  • Hi FirstTimeSaver

I'm a newbie here too, and can identify completely with what you say! But I think if we support each other on this thread we can do this challenge, as daunting as the prospect is for those of us who love clothes and shopping :o

Good luck, we will have to keep an eye on each other's progress and spur each other on :)
