The 2010 crazy clothes challenge

I'm feeling pleased with myself. Managing fine so far but got an email through about 70% off sale at Regatta.
I'm going on a walking hol later this year and will need some bits for it and even logged on to see what I could get.
However I thought about the challenge and I think I've spent about £18 so far this year which already takes me into March and I don't want to spend March and April before I get there.
Anyway, appears the Regatta sale comes up fairly regularly so I'm sure that once I actually know exactly what I need for my trip there will be a sale again and I can shop having prepared properly!
Aha, progress at last!!!:jI've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction

Hello you fabby lot
Happy New Clothes to the buyers :j all totals finally updated.
A big welcome & it's NEVER too late to join the Clothes Challenge to :
Katydid, Jane Blackford, alliboy & Rainy; apologies if you were hoping the door might be shut :rotfl:You have all been added to the front page now.
I was going to call off my shopping trip tomorrow  yes, really I was, but then the strap came off DD expensive Clarks school shoes  so I have to return them & then DD1 called to say she would treat me to a hot chocolate. I never refuse chocolate, it would be rude
so I'll have to go & just be 'sensible'.
Bye for now

Well I already did it. I went a whole year without spending a penny on clothes. Course, that was coz I was on benefits and didn't have enough for food and electricity and gas, let alone luxuries like clothes but still, I did it0

thought about selling unwanted clothes on ebay and spent hours looking at stuff for sale there only to decide not to bother

I tend to buy few expensive items(in the sales of course)brands like Windsmoor,Planet East,Phase Eight, and my latest find Kew,but the prices on ebay are so low and often get no bids
:(:(:(
after that tried to watch recorded stuff only to find freeview had naffed up again and scrambled everything so end up watching Damages on computer and getting a stiff neck

I have bought another cardi so I have spent £43 altogether - I have included the postage on my coat, otherwise I would have only spent £28.
So I now have £57 - no idea if I will manage!0 -
Well I have been 'nautical' and kept the t-shirt I bought in Asda for £8 so my budget is down to £70 for the rest of the year. Thinking I can still do this, as the only items on my To Buy list are a black belt for jeans, a denim skirt (maybe) and something else I can't quite remember.
I tried to wash a raincoat the other day and almost ruined a load of clothes as part of it melted (don't know why), raincoat is now in bin so that might be another purchase.0 -
Returned safely from shopping trip, not having spent a single penny on clothes :j.
Left Primarni in disgust, everything looked so cheap & nasty today. Have vowed not to go there again ... we'll see .
I did buy some new boots in TK Maxx for £20 but that doesnt count
.
Happy new clothes to lisainglasgow & Swinstie
Well done Maat on not spending anything at all, great resolve :A0 -
A few items bought yesterday:
£2.79 on black wool mix vintage cardigan. It is very soft and in good condition, and has (non-original) metal glittery butterfly buttons which make it a bit more unusual.
£1.79 on navy and white striped sleeveless vest (only Tu originally but I need some more basics in my wardrobe, and have a navy cardi to wear over it for work). I see navy spots and stripes are in the shops a lot for spring.
I don't own a black cardigan, and in the last couple of years have realised how cardigans smarten up outfits enough for an office. Wore new cardi today with jeans but felt dour:(, might be because I felt really unwell today:(:(:(... or might be because I hardly ever wear black on my top half;).... might have to keep cardi to just chuck over dresses. Hate to think I've wasted even a small amount of my Dress Challenge money!:rotfl:Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
