Hello you fabulous people,
I do apologise for my prolonged absence, have been rather busy but still keeping notes of the totals, so will update in abit.
Many Congralutations :jto gratefulforhelp, that's great news.
Happy New Clothes to all, am planning a small expedition to civilization on payday this week . I need another long cardi for work & maybe a couple more long sleeved tops as I've given up on the idea that I'll ever be warm enough to wear a t shirt again.
I can promise that I havent been doing any snowdancing - cant abide the stuff unless it occurs during the christmas week. The roads in this area are full of craters & I no longer drive to work, I do a kind of slalom / cave diving thing .
BlondeAmbition; I'm so glad you are back on the mission with us :T & Swinstie ... I am in awe of your clearout :A& am going to count up how many pieces I wear regularly to test out the Gok theory. Is there a time limit on how long we have to stick with these items for ? I have a low boredom threshold :rotfl:
Sarahneedle - TKMaxx often have cheap rocket dogs - I love 'em & got a fab pair of light blue ones with owls on last year for £9.
Just a reminder to all ... Lula is always watching
I'll report back after my payday excursion; need to work out how much I have 'earned' to spend first though ...
bye for now

Is it too late to sign up? So far this year I have spent absolutely nothing on new clothes! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Hi there can I join please as it will help me keep an eye on how much money I spend on clothes! I will do the £100 challenge. Have already spent £5.25 last week on two tops!! In the local R.S.P.C.A shop. I want to dress this year in the style of the 40's & 50's so it's extra hard for me!
It's £100-£5.25 gone this year.

Hello all,
I actually started my own personal challenge a while ago. Here are my details from a seperate post I made on a thread in a different section of the site:All this clothes business is the opposite to me.
I simply don't wear things out (either that, or perhaps more likely I refuse to accept stuff is actually worn out). My brother has always worn stuff out real quick, whereas my stuff lasts.
On my birthday in 2008, I was given 8 tshirts. In October. No-one is gonna see them then - too cold!
However, it made me think that I am too difficult to buy for, & it was an easy option for peeps.
In addition, it made me look at the sheer number of clothes I have. Many of which never get worn.
I vowed then to buy no new clothes for a year.
Approaching my birthday last year, I realised that I'd worn out 1 pair of trousers - nothing else. I extended my 1 year to 5 years. Exceptions will happen for essential work clothes, but other than that, I'm on a self imposed ban. & everyone I know is well aware that they can't buy me clothes for christmas or birthdays until I let them know.
I'm now a year & a half into it. Not got rid of much. Couple of tops, couple of pairs of trousers. I'm currently wearing 2 pairs of trainers & a couple of select jumpers to death as they are next to go.
To be honest, I'll be glad of the space when I get rid of some of the stuff!
& I'm definitely no fashonista
As stated I'm almost 18 months into a refusal to buy any more clothes. At all!
The only exception I will allow myself is new work clothes, but even that hasn't arisen yet! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
£100 a year on clothes! I wish!0

Wow that's impressive Lemon Jelly!
I haven't spent any more yet... just thinking about what I'm wearing today - grey Wallis trousers I bought the other week (£40 reduced to £8.40), black polo neck jumper bought at the end of last year (£29 reduced to £7), black patent Edina Ronay shoes (£15 from TK Maxx, RRP £80).. so about £150 worth but actually spent £30!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
i just bought 4 skirts and 1 top for a penny each so i have 5p too declare. i hope they come now.0

:hello: Hi All!
I know we are well into 2010 now but can I join in? I know the amount that I’ve spent (not spent!) on home clothes as I’ve been doing a mini-challenge with myself.
My current balance stands at £83 (£17 made up of 2 x Next sale pj’s and 2 pairs of shoes on Saturday  All bargains but nevertheless unnecessary!) My pattern seems to be that I crack around 4 days before payday when I know that I have a bit of grocery budget left over!
As there was a time when I had money and could shop for fun, I am more than well equipped with clothes, shoes, bags and accessories so I am looking to these beauties to see me through!
Good luck everyone! :APround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201
