I dont think you really mean that :rotfl: but I'll do my best for you & Sarahangel :D. Might need a bit of help myself though ...

I have to go back to town again tomorrow as when I tried to exchange DDs school shoes today I was told that they were all being recalled for the same reason so had to get a credit note instead . Not sure I can resist temptation in Next 2 days in a row :o.

Happy New clothes to all who have them, will update immediately to keep me away from internet shopping :D

  • Hi everyone

I have been reading this thread and identify with so much of it, and as a newbie I need a challenge to kickstart my DFW life!

I have a very full wardrobe with lots of shoes, bags, scarves, jewellery etc, and clothes that I want to slim into, so... *deep breath* I am going to challenge myself to a
£100 limit for everything apart from underwear and tights *gulp!*

I know I'm a couple of months late coming to this but I haven't bought any clothes, shoes or bags so far in 2010 - not as admirable as it sounds, due to a c*ck-up at work I haven't been paid since before Christmas so have simply had no cash to spare! Normally I would be shopping online and making impulse purchases when I go to Tesco or wander past Primarni :o
However if I can survive 2 months without buying anything, and I have, I'm hoping I can maintain that frame of mind and get through the rest of this year on my budget.

I have 3 weddings to attend this year, and my first beach holiday abroad in 6 years this summer, so I am going to have to really test myself to stick to this! I am telling myself that I have plenty of things I can get back into if I stick to my weight loss target over the next few months (I am a terrible hoarder so still have my bikinis stashed away!). I also want to look into mending, dying,
adjusting and refashioning what I already have; plus I have a sister, mom, aunts and cousins who are all of a similar height and shape to me so will be 'shopping' in their wardrobes as well as my own for the special occasions!

I loved what I read earlier on in the thread about your wardrobe being your own personal shop where everything already fits and suits you, so my aim over the weekend is to go through my washing and ironing baskets - bet I make some rediscoveries there! - and get everything organised so I can see exactly what I've got to work with.

Weirdly starting to look forward to this, I can see how it could get addictive :D

Thanks Lula for overseeing all this, please add me to your list!

:j:j still haven't bought any clothes: Lula's influence is strong :p

Lula blinked, so I pounced :p
I declare a spend of £10 on a perfectly lush Cath Kidston-esque cardi (it even has dinky 'pearl' buttons)
It was hanging there looking delectable on the Tesco half price rail.

£10 off my £150 please Lula

(& I'll put the figures the right way round on my sig :o)

    A few items bought yesterday:

£2.79 on black wool mix vintage cardigan. It is very soft and in good condition, and has (non-original) metal glittery butterfly buttons which make it a bit more unusual.
£1.79 on navy and white striped sleeveless vest (only Tu originally but I need some more basics in my wardrobe, and have a navy cardi to wear over it for work). I see navy spots and stripes are in the shops a lot for spring.

I don't own a black cardigan, and in the last couple of years have realised how cardigans smarten up outfits enough for an office. Wore new cardi today with jeans but felt dour:(, might be because I felt really unwell today:(:(:(... or might be because I hardly ever wear black on my top half;).... might have to keep cardi to just chuck over dresses. Hate to think I've wasted even a small amount of my Dress Challenge money!:rotfl:

I am an "autumn" so should not wear black !but think it is so useful as goes with everything, black trousers ,a bright top and a black cardi would not be too draining on the skin and I noticed a lot of black and orange(my fav colour) in the shops this week so stick with it! also great with a printed skirt with black and other cols in,pick out a colour from ther skirt for a top and add black cardi.

I went in Zara and came out feeling very depressed as it was all monochrome with about 5% coloured items, not at all inspiring !:(
