snowing again here today so have been sledging for the 2nd afternoon in a row.
First year that DS hasn't believed in Santa but we will still be watching him on NORAD TRACK SANTA ( well worth a look if you haven't seen it before) on Christmas Eve0 -
Helen - he'll be VERY stroppy but the job will get done! Now where is the phone number so I can NOT call the electrician to get the light put up in our room which we got summer 2007!:rotfl:
Tootles - thank you very much for the Christmas card. It was very kind of you xx0 -
choccybix - I usually use stuff from BBC Good Food website, but I'm having trouble accessing it at the moment. Maybe its crashed with people checking how long they need to cook the turkey for? They have some good stuff on there. HTH0

Ok 7 boxes of old stuff into garage, 3 sacks of broken stuff binned, 4 sacks of too little clothes and 3 boxes of crap from the rest of the house gone.....and it still looks a tip, argh
juliejim well done
Decided on no tree, DS1 dislikes the change anyway (he ran down the street last year when he got in & there was a tree up) but DS2 a little upset so we've said we will see what lights we have in the garage for him. He just loves lights. We're too skint to be honest I'd rather spend the £30+ on things we need like food. We would only have to take it down when the suite arrives (hopefully next week) Not being a bah humbug, just trying to be sensible. Done some overspending since we moved & don't want extras like a tree making Christmas a worry.
Ok tonight more sorting, finding homes for things, cleaning, laundry & some minor stuff on the tank.....One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I've text DH to say the joiner is coming on December 29th. He's livid! The plan is he'll now do the job so that I have to phone and cancel which will be embarrassing (well it would be if I'd booked a joiner in the first place :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
:T:T:T:T That's made me laugh - thank you :A:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Awww Kaz, what a wonderful woman you are
Greenbee - if there are train services, you're more than welcome to come and stop here over Christmas if you can't get to Norfolk and well done on your research paper!
Walk done, half hour soak in the bath when I got back accompanied by exfoliation etc. Just about to start to make chicken soup for tea - DS is coming over to have some..I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

You asked about the roads - DH says that the roundabouts in Newbury are a bit slushy, but once he was onto the A34 and M40 it was fine :j
I've finally cleared the drive (borrowed a decent shovel from a neighbour for the last bit, which was much quicker). I'm now really grubby and stinky, but the house is also a tip and I have mince pies to cook - everything needs to be done by the time a friend comes over at 6 (hopefully she'll bring some grit or salt with her - but if not I think there is one in the next road which I can raid in the morning).
Just remembered - first thing I need to do is take meter readings  Better put my boots back on and get them done, then a quick shower, make the mince pies and have a frantic tidy while they're in the oven!0 -
