I am tryting to cut down the time I spend on posts etc so forgive me if I have missed you xx

pigpen - thats very sad news - thoughts and prayers to their family and friends - hugs to you and your Mum - its a terribel shock. Blimey what are you doing for an encore?:eek::eek::eek: you broke a nail (and hurt the rest of you too of course:rolleyes:) arnica and take it a bit steadier for a few days.
soappie thank goodness you have heat again - I hope the fan lasts you through until the better weather at least.
boddy hope Mum likes her new necklace - you should take a photo of it as a record in case it happens again (god forbid but if someone is targetting vulnerable people then you can never tell)
WTG juliejim - what a great surprise!!!

mudbath I know exactly how you feel with no skirtings - the really bad gaps etc i blocked up with old towells and that made a difference - worth trying? I doubt if you are going to get it done until the new Year so you may as well and try to make it a bit warmer for now. you need a curtain over the door - even if you drawing pin it in place each evening that would help. ETA how devious can you get :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::T
Diva - hope you are not too stressed - take care honey xx
greenbee far more sensible to stay at home in those conditions - well done with your research paper - see if you cn get some dross for your fire and put a shovel full on late and that might see you through the night
Aunty you had better be keeing safe and warm with all that snow up there
welcome tickb26 we do manage to get things done in time but as you are limited then just do whats absolutely necessary - crisis clean!!!! will send you a pm later. Welcome to our friendly madhouse!!

I hope you are safely home and getting warmed up - please be very careful if you have to go out tonight.

LadyL b my cards arrived today - thank you so much for doing such a great job.

And thank you everyone for your lovely cards, messages and ecards - you are such a wonderful bunch of people - I am so honoured to call you my friends. xxxxxxx

I had a nice day at Cornhill - we made a Christmas cracker each and a gift box for the jewellery we made or whatever. then in the afternoon there were carols.

just about to have tea then more wrapping and checking what needs doing.
    back later
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

Where is she at uni pink? Some places look like a complete nightmare.

Do we have anyone in Basingstoke? Sorry, my English geography is rubbish! :o

Yes. Me. I haven't been out for days...

Friend is late BUT hamper made up in old fruit bowl that was going to go to charity shop - blackberry whisky, marinated feta, christmas tree biscuits (with blue glitter), star biscuits (with silver shimmer), mixed truffles and some white choc and cranberry fudge (not quite set yet, but close!). Mince pies in oven.

Presents that aren't going to Norfolk with me are under the tree. The others are in a crate. Need to make up a few more hampers (or at least, work out the bits I need for them...)

some work has arrived in my queue that hasn't been set up properly, so I need to query that later. Also ask someone what info I need to put on my out of office. And I need to find out what's happened about the email I sent off earlier...

Doh! I thought you were near frodders, near the coast. I've just looked on a map, nowhere near! Have you ever had snow like this before GB?

I may have to re-think my idea about going into uni tomorrow

In answer to your question Tootles - I can be very devious! I asked DH to get some strong painkillers on his way home. He asked why. I told him how this cold weather is really making the wrist that I broke throb but it was all right....painkillers would help. He's come home with an oil filled radiator for the kitchen (the plan was to buy one when we had the kitchen installed when DD was 18 months old....she's 10 now!).:rotfl::rotfl:

DD and DH are out handing out cookies that DD baked this afternoon to the neighbours. Very sweet of her. I feel sick as I've eaten to many broken cookies :D.

    Time to s/s again! xx

So I got back from work, still no parking pass....

So collected 1 item from Boots, 2 more to get.

Went briefly in Morrissons, left straight away, chaos and queues stretching right down all of the aisles.

    M and S was packed....left there too.

Waitrose not too bad got some goose and duck fat then queued for ever to get out.

Got in set new tv up,

    fed cat

    brought bin in

    locked chickens up

    hoovered front room and stairs.

Now I'm going to have a shower and chill out.

Soappie so glad your heating is back on.

Kazwookie, aww brings it home really how those with so little are so grateful, your post made me stop and think about a quite a lot of things really. Thank you.
