Im back from DDs and have had a lovely day even though I feel unwell. I have a sore throat cold and headache. It certainly helped that I had done the roast potatoes, parsnip and meat the day before. DD and GS2 did the rest today and it was lovely. We went to see mum and she enjoyed opening her presents. I got DD to take some photos of me and mum together. Santa has been very good me and I have some lovely gifts. Watched GGD1 open her presents and GGD3 had a little santa dress on. Ive taken some meds, put my jamas on and going to watch some tv.

lil_me I think Charles is lovely.

    Evening all

Dinner was a success. All the remaining food is sorted and tucked away. Guests have been despatched, replete, to their own homes. One dishwasher load is finishing soon and once that's emptied, the rest of the washing up can be done.

DD has gone out to see a friend who was bitten by a dog her parents were fostering last night and had to have a quantity of stitches in her face this morning (A&E wouldn't stitch it last night, they wanted to wait until the max...facial..thingy specialist was in this morning to reduce the possibility of scarring). Seems she will be fine eventually.

Poor dog will have to be put down it seems as he can't be trusted. It's so hard in such circumstances - he was being rehomed because he'd been rescued from an abusive household. All the friend did was give it a hug and it turned. The only saving grace is it seemed to be a warning nip rather than a full lock on bite. If it had been the full lock on, she would have lost half her face  We all signed a card for her and sent some little chocolate treats in with it.

I confess to falling asleep in the armchair for about half an hour whilst attempting to watch TV, but it must have done me good, because I now have the energy to toddle up the road to visit best friend and give her and her husband their presents. Then it's back home for 9pm for the new Agatha Christie on ITV accompanied with cold turkey and pickles (yum!)

Front room tidied... kitchen S&S'd.. cuppa made.. children despatched.. half a chocolate orange decluttered.. DD3 got it from Santa and she brought it to me and said she wanted me to have it because she doesn't like chocolate orange and she knows I do.. aaawww... little witch has her moments.. they are few and far between and all the more precious for it!

moomin with her new boots is so very happy.. she has been wearnig them most of today.. the umpteen new singstar discs have gone down a treat.. DS1 et al came round and everyone just about had a turn. Jacob is just overwhelmed over tired and teething.. his top 2 front gnashers are almost through so he wasn't a happy bunny.. and even less happy when he was dumped on OH lol

Everyone seems mightily pleased with their new stuff..

I am just pleased it is all over lol... For NEXT christmas I am getting DD1 and DS2 a laptop each... just the others to think of something for now!

Phew, well lunch was a huge success, my FIL helped and scuttled round behind me wiping and washing up (bless him!) only the yorkshire puddings were a bit over done but managed to salvage enough of them to taste good!!!

lots of turkey left for tomorrow :)

DD has just made the start of the trifle for tomorrow, bless, we have a friend coming over and will be playing scrabble most of the day

OH bought me an anniversary edition, wooden boxed set scrabble, it's gorgeous !!!
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

pigpen how lovely if her :)
jinky we didn't have turkey either as I did not order on time, didn't miss it one bit
soappie hope her friend is ok, sometimes in those cases they don't PTS, I've home checked for dogs who have been in foster & aggressive after leaving awful situations.

Just noticed Charles looks a little 'shabby' on that picture, he's shedding his skin @ present, seem to be settling in well thankfully.

Been to DPs Dad's, always stressful untill GGrandma goes as she is a real handful. Lovely GGAunt is struggling so much now, she is 80 but bless her she's adorable. Had a chill out ish time when they went with DPs Mam & step Dad, who relaxed when GG went. Had a few discussions with Gordon & feel a little more relaxed :) just the chicken to put away, get something for our supper then the rest can wait until tomorrow.
One day I might be more organised...........
