Hello all...

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy Christmas - hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow, and that Father Christmas brings you what you want!

Have just about done - just got the table to do for tomorrow morning and a quick tidy around. My cut-off time is 8pm...

Got to keep an eye on the dishwasher though as I've put a couple of soap dishes from the bathroom in there and it's complaining a bit (:o). I've already bailed it out twice! Note to self: rinse soap off soap dishes before loading into dishwasher!!

Been to the crib service and I'm now about to iron DD1's dress to wear tomorrow while DH baths the girls.

DS1 has done a grand job with the Christmas cake and yule log - photos tomorrow.

Final push needed - going to do a bit more food prep now and then the rest I can do whilst sitting watching tv later.

Just had a nice christmas eve drink with NN so I'm feeling quite mellow. I have dysoned and dusted throughout the place and DD, bless, her, scrubbed through the bathroom and utility area for me even though she's struggling with a cold.

I'm now at a bit of a loose end. I'm not normally this organised on a christmas eve. I just need to peel the veg really - which I'll start on soon - oh and make the cranberry sauce and perhaps peel some chestnuts ready for stuffing tomorrow (to put IN the stuffing - not stuff the chestnut!)

Very nearly done - just mince pies and stuffing mix to do.... all the wrapping is done,. DD feels better, and her BF is here and has spoilt her rotten so she's happy! Off to check out Santa - the teens are all grown up and not interested, so it's just me watching all the videos and getting excited!

dusty - tomorrow afternoon, after lunch, I'll be having a quiet reflective glass of something in the kitchen, and will be toasting you and your Nan, and me and my Mum. Love and hugs.

Evening all

I'm done! I'll find my list and catch up with the thread in a moment but it's been a good day so far. Lunch out, friend v pleased with hm goodies, presents taken to in laws ready for tomorrow, and saw DH's other sis & bil who are doing ok considering everything,

Parsnips and potatoes peeled for tomorrow. Can I ask - how many potatoes would you do for 12 adults? we did a 2.5kg bag plus a few more, but have extras i can peel if that's not enough. I'm not v experienced at this but I've offered to do them for mil, to help out and also cos i'm pretty good at roasties! We're going to do them in the morning then shove them back in a hot oven for 10 mins before serving up at lunchtime, otherwise we'd have to wait at home til they were ready if we did them in time for lunch and everyone will want to open their prezzies after church!

we're going to have cheese, biscuits and chilli jam for tea, followed by mince pies and brandy butter. Then we'll do something or other til the midnight communion service.

Veg all prepped and in the fridge, Beef and Turkey is cooked so just the duck to do tomorrow, Pigs in Blankets all ready, Red Cabbage cooked and table is laid. Time to pour a drink and relax and enjoy the peace for a couple of hours before DD and DS come home :D
