Cinema was fun but then had to drive mum to a friend's house cos she had said friend's purse and she didn't know where her road was even though she was only at the house yesterday. Cue 20 mins driving up and down roads until we found the right turning!

Then she asks me what time I'm picking her up tomorrow - first I knew about it. I don't mind, but I'd prefer to be asked!

Oh, and she's copped about dad and I going to Belfast ..............

    Anyway ....

GnB - glad DB is here safely and you're all pleased to see him

    msg - gentle hugs

    jordylass - welcome

    prettypennies - congrats

toots - no apologies needed; have a lovely time xx

kazwookie - sounds like a wonderful experience

That's us done too. My DH has just asked how come we're ready and it's only 8pm - in the next breathe he said 'flylady....I'm so glad you found that site!':rotfl:.

We've just done carols in the snow in the village. Stripes came too and DH was besieged by all the children wanting to talk to her. She was in her element and one little boy got his mum to take him to the tesco express and bought her a packet of gravy bones....how adorable is that!

Home now and DS has just asked to go and get ready for bed. He went upstairs and was so excited to find Manchester United pj's and a black and grey skull dressing gown. He's spent the last half hour being darth vader  :rotfl:.

Boddy - the lego arrived today!!!!! One of them is wrapped and I've written 'happy Christmas love Boddy'. DD also likes lego so I've given one of them to her from you too! Thank you again for your kindness. xx

  • Hi. Am looking at sending some e cards but am worried about keying in the recipients email address in case they get spam.

well DS and DD have had their Christmas eve basket and are now dressed in their new pj and have new slippers. (DD has taken hers to bed with her :D)and as a special treat they had a hot chocolate. Then planned on children goig to bed but MIL came round so had t change plans but I think that DS and DD are now asleep. Fingers crossed.

Mudbath-the carols sound wonderful especially with all the snow. Our has gone now.

Rach - re the roasties - I always work on the principle of three pieces of roast potato per person (e.g. if you have one large potato, cut it in quarters, that counts as 4)

You are very welcome but I must confess it wasnt me - I didnt reply on here or by PM so I best not take credit.
However - are you psychic ??? Cos I was thinkiong of you and was going to reply but it was 1 in the morning and I reaaaallly needed to get to bed.
Your post about the calendars struck a chord. DH took the kids out yesterday to get me stuff from Asda. Asda! ASDA!!! ASDAAAARGGGGHHHH not to sound ungrateful but I know every single thing they sell in there and none of it is very exciting. DD1 threw a massive strop and said she didnt want to go, apparently DS had a tantrum while they were there, then DD1 refused to help DH wrap them this morning and DS got chucked out of the room they were wrapping in for being awkward and unhelpful. I am feeling very unappreciated that between them they left it so late, went to the flipping supermarket, and then collectively didnt want to bother putting in the effort to wrap. This morning I shouted at all of them that they could eat dry bread for lunch tomorrow as I would be staying in bed on my own.
    BAH!
    HUMBUG!

Anyway that was this morning, they've been a lot better this afternoon, just got tea and bedtime to get through then going to collapse on the sofa

It was you Jill - it was your post just wishing everyone a merry Christmas and you and Valli were the only ones to have done it at that stage. I'm glad it wasnt just me feeling unappreciated. I actually asked DH f the money that he left was towards Christmas like he initially said or was for my present as well, guess which one he answered! He did admit to not having much more money left but I didnt want something hugely expensive, I'd rather have something small that had some thought put into it, but hey stop moaning kaz you have a lot to be thankful for, him, my 2 lovely children a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs and food falling out of the cupboards. The people kazw is with would love to have half that lot.

Well like I said earlier - not much left to do, I could prep the veg make mince pies etc but I'm not going to. I'm going to put my feet up with the TV mags in front of the box and then have an early night. Mum has already rung to say could they come at 9 as she needed to get her big chicken in early - 9 !!!!!!, we usually opene santa pressied in dressing gowns and then shower and breakfast and by the time thas done its usually about 11 !! Mudbath. Aww thats kind of you. I was wondering if it had arrived. I hope they have lots of fun with it. GS1 has been around to collect their presents. I helped him carry them around and had a cuddle with GGD3. She is taking notice now and smiling. Im just watching the soaps with a cuppa then going to jump in the shower.
