  • Has anyone seen Bishops Beds or used them?
    They don't have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, but they are much cheaper than Bedlum or Emporium as they don't charge for delivery.
  • Hey,

    I was looking at the La Romantica Oriel Double;

    Bedlum £88 + £20
    Emporium £78 + £30
    Bishops £79

    Which is a rather substantial saving!

    Do you think Bedlum or Emporium would price match? I'm guessing not. Even though they don't have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, that £30 is rather a lot to me at the moment and would go towards the bed frame.:rotfl:

    Have you got an independent bed shop nearby? I would advise you try them, tell them what you are looking for, you might be surprised at what they have on offer, and you will be try it as well has not have the hassle of returning.

    They are good mattresses, but they are just over priced.

    It may also be worth checking if they give a satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress.

    I'm just about to move and need 3 mattresses, just came across this mattress price comparison website cheapmattresses.co.uk and I've been able to save a quite few quid by doing a bit of research on their site.

    I wouldn't just rely on price comparison sites. All the companies who sell on them actually pay the comparison sites for each sale. So it is just a form of advertising.

    As with insurance comparison sites you can often find cheaper by doing a bit of searching, and finding companies who don't advertise on comparison sites.

    If I were you I would stay away from big brand names, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.
  • Phew! Having read this thread & a few similar ones, the song 'There are more questions than answers' comes to mind. ;~} (Thanks Johnny). It's apparent that mattresses like La Romatica-Madrid & Kozeesleep are brands to be aware of but I'm having real difficulty in finding other independent brands that offer turnable pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses. Any ideas?

    Deluxe-beds & Highgate websites are either down or muddled respectively so not much help there. I have a 5' divan base & would prefer to be the right side of £400 but will stretch to the £450-£500 mark as a good mattress should last a while, certainly longer than a 100% foam mattress it would appear, so any further comments or recommendations, or perhaps Tim could just let us know what he spent his hard earned on. (Just kidding, Tim ;~)

    I have come across divan centre who claim to have several pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses such as Savoy, Milan & Deluxe around the £250 mark but surely this is too good to be true?

  • Saw one of these in the showroom yesterday and found it to be very comfortable. I'd appreciate any advice about the construction as described, also the manufacturer. The quality and finish seemed to compare well with similarly priced mattresses.
