Course I don't mind lincs, always nice to know not rambling to myself! Will look out for your diary when you start and pop in to offer support.

    Merry Christmas to you too!

Yet another bottle of wine....red though

All is not lost, I am going to give my friend a bottle of the red and the other one, I will take either to my Aunt's (Christmas Day dinner) or to my sister's (Sunday dinner).

Just been to the canteen for lunch, so £2.10 spend so far today. Had a lovely stew in a giant Yorkshire pudding. I am making a stew on Thursday, so guess what I will be buying in Asda tonight :D. Already checked them out, 3 for £1, two for us and one for the freezer, nice!

    Evening all,

Had a nitemare drive home tonight, actually it wasn't that bad as my boss drove me home and I just gave directions :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It started snowing really heavy this afternoon and there were problems on the roads everywhere, so was allowed to leave early, well 4pm instead of 4.30pm but my boss, who lives right beside me said if I wanted to leave my car, he'd run me home and bring me in tomorrow (he has one of those Honda CRV thingys). Only problem is, he leaves between 7.30am and 7.45am, I'm just out the shower at that time. We took ages to get home but was really due to the volume of traffic and having to take detours.

There were also problems with the trains, just hope ok by Thursday as OH coming by train.

So, no Asda again for me tonight, but I have been given the instructions for the stew, simple enough, a bit of preparation but I think I will do that tomorrow night. Not had dinner yet and sitting here eating a chocolate orange whilst feeling decidedly sick :o.

Gonna have a quick dinner then finish the bathroom, shouldn't take me too long if I don't start watching tv. Not going to bust a gut doing it before Christmas but as long as upstairs is done I will be happy.

  • Yes, we had more snow yesterday at about 4pm and got let out of work half an hour later as a result. Good job we did too as it took me two hours to get home (20 mile journey, mostly motorway) and MrEH was four hours on his journey (Same distance - left half an hour after me) and was thoroughly fed up by the timne he got home.

Good call on the wine - may as well spread the love, and if you're not so keen on drinking it yourself, everyone's happy! :D

Well my plans haven't exactly went to plan! Nearly set the kitchen on fire trying to make dinner .

Decided I had so much cabbage and potatoes lurking in the fridge that I had to use them up somehow, so googled them ;). Found a recipe for Colcannon which was very easy and I love cabbage and mashed potato. On peeling the tatties, thought I would put a pot of water on, forgetting that I was peeling them onto kitchen roll which was sitting on the cooker, you can imagine, the kitchen roll went up in flames and I'm standing around like a numpty watching it! Disaster averted, dinner made and eaten, just waiting on OH phoning then I WILL get the bathroom finished.

Have decided that I am taking Thursday morning off on holiday as we are getting away at noon anyway and I'm not driving into work for a few hours. That's assuming I get home tomorrow, my car may be stuck at work for Christmas, eek hope not.

Better not complain, at least we all got home from work safely, guess that's the main thing! Have a nice nite everyone x

Bathroom is about 90% finished :j

Got new shower curtain up, it stinks of plastickness though, urgh!

Cleaned rest of bath, shower rails, sink, toilet and most of the floor. I say most of, as I have a 'things' box sitting right at the door which is why it's only 90% done. The 'things' box started off as clothes I was giving to charity but now has dressing gowns, bags of Christmas presents, towels and general goodness knows what crap in it, so will have to go through that tomorrow now. I also have my holiday holdall full of crap still lying around, I really don't want to put them back in the bedroom though cos they'll never be dealt with.

Kettle is on for a cuppa, then bed as need to be up fairly early tomorrow. Spoke to OH and we're hoping the trains are running on Thursday, will keep checking and let him know, if really struggling I will go for him as I've not seen him since last Wednesday and I miss him ;). Nite all, sweet dreams x

    Morning all,

Was up at an un-godly hour this morning to get a lift in with my boss! My car is sitting in the works carpark still covered in snow, spot the numpty who couldn't drive herself home last night :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Definitely taking tomorrow morning off, thinking I might go to Morrisons at lunch-time today to do my food shop rather than Asda tonight, just hoping can get everything I need. Need to wrap presents tonight and I think I've 'lost' half of them. Need to make the flannel reindeer too, thought maybe I wouldn't bother but have all the stuff. Will set up a production line on the coffee table and get them done. Quick tidy in bedroom and bathroom and the rest will get quickly done on Thursday.

Spent £1.10 so far on a cold bacon buttie!

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it! My GF's Mum had to abandon her car when she went to pick my GF up from the airport last night (they live up a steep hill); they called a taxi (which subsequently gave up trying to get them home at bottom of said hill) and in the end GF (and cars) only got home because her dad managed to drive them up the hill (no doubt at great risk to himself - he's stubborn like that!) :D

I'm beating myself up because I know I'm capable (well I think I am) of driving in the snow, but tbh I was glad of the run home and in this morning, hey saved me petrol too :D

Got myself a wee half day today so that's me finished til Tuesday. I think Asda is going to be very busy but I need to get there today as it will be mobbed tomorrow and I ain't going near it then.

Also got another box of choccies and a bottle of vodka today, my colleagues obviously think all I do is eat and drink :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Come on 12 o'clock......
