Morning all,
Wow that was some post F_F, very helpful indeed. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of my spends but if I get something in the sale, I usually think 'oh means I can spend more money' so the pressie looks more but I know I've spent less IYSWIM! Ok, from now on, even if someone's pressie ends up being free, I will mark down what it should've cost and see how much I save. I am liking this, and those web-sites, free books eh!
Christmas shopping for me in starting in January - I can indulge my shopping cravings, but without the guilt! Makes me think though of my sister this year, she bought some John Freida shampoo/conditioner sets for mines and my sister's birthday this year (in the sale). Only problem was, she bought stuff for blonde hair and by the time it came to my birthday I had dyed my hair red :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Wonder if I could pass it on to a blonde friend
Well, snow is still lying here, so gonna have some brekkie, then make a start on the Bedroom of Doom, even if I only get the wardrobe emptied, I will be happy. If I am not back on this afternoon I have wandered into Narnia.....0 -
Hey Swinstie and sparkly new diary!:T:T Love it.
Just one thing dude - are you really going to put yourself through another detox?! In January?!!:rotfl:Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Well back from Narnia, very lovely at this time of year....
Actually, just having a wee break and a ponder
Haven't touched the wardrobe yet (bad Swinstie), however I have spent the last hour and a bit in the bedroom, doing the window. Now I will admit to just going to clean the window but in doing so noticed the horrendous amount of dust on the blinds and curtains.
So in the last hour I have taken down the curtains and blinds, cleaned all around the window sills, inside and out (managed to figure out how to open the window after 4 years), cleaned inside and outside panes, dusted and cleaned the blinds and curtain rail, shook out curtains and re-hung.
My question is this! I currently spend £32.50 a year on window cleaning - £2.50 for 4 windows every 4 weeks, should I give up this luxury and do the windows myself??
Pro's - Not a great deal of money, gets done for me (outside anyway)
Con's - I'm very lazy and it's taken me an hour to do one window (I needed to take down blinds to open it).
Answers on a postcard please......0 -
Signing off for the day as going up to OH's tonight, he's making dinner so can have a nice relaxing night. He is working tomorrow so we will probably just go over to the local pub for a couple, so looking at a £10 spend, not too bad for a nice night out.
Well have finished the window, and cleared out a small chest of drawers and sorted OH's 'stuff' into the bottom drawer. Poor guy can never find his boxers and socks cos I've got them lying everywhere, so he now has his own drawer, ain't I nice
A room has four corners right, well one corner of my bedroom is now looking super, all tidy and hoovered. Shame about the rest of it, glad staying at OH's tonight as the bed is up to the ceiling in clothes and crap. Oh, even managed to put up the new lantern lightshade I bought about 3 months ago, better late than never eh!
Have a nice weekend everyone, and hi to SarahNeedle (I will be back on the 100 day challenge, I promise)! x

Evening all,
Well wasn't supposed to be on here tonight, but I am trapped at my Mum's! Left the house at 3pm today to go to OH's, (he stays 27 miles away), 7 miles and over an hour later, I had to admit defeat and head home. The snow caused major chaos on the roads, I was managing ok but the lorries weren't. They were stuck in the middle of roads and nothing could get through. OH normally makes an effort to get to mines even if the going is tough and I feel bad about not seeing him tonight, especially since I now won't see him til Christmas Eve.
The traffic was against me, it would've been ages before I got to his, and as he is working tomorrow wouldn't have had much time with him.
Anyway, on the way home thought I'd try another route and go via the motorway, it was just as bad so pulled off, but the road to mines was blocked too so diverted to my Mum's. Just had a Chinese for dinner, nephew and myself went for it and had to walk as didn't want to risk driving again. I am pooped now, but at least I have been fed and have a bed for the night.
So spends today were £5.00 for the Chinese, not all bad. Will have to try and get home early tomorrow to continue my cleaning campaign, please don't snow again until Christmas!!!0 -

Have a nice evening Swinstie. Well done on the windows and no, the cost for the window cleaner is well worth it I would have said - we live on the ground floor which is theory shoulkd mean we have immaculate windows all the time - of course it doesn't work that way though and frankly if I could find a window cleaner at that sort of cost I would go for it like a shot!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Afternoon everyone,
Well had a nice night at my Mum's last night, had Chinese with the two Smirnoff Ices I was taking to OH's and watched Shrek 1, 2 and some of 3. Got into my jams and lay on the couch all night, it was bliss. Got up this morning to pancakes and maple syrup! Now why did I move out of the parental home
So home and once come off here, will get started again. I think you're right EH, the window cleaner isn't too bad an idea and considering I do the insides about twice a year :rotfl::rotfl:, then dread to think if I was doing the outside too, how long it would take before I couldn't see out at all. Money well spent I think.
Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing Sunday, dreading work tomorrow especially if it snows again!0
