OK a serious thought. How about someone goes up in the roof and sticks a finger in the F&E tank to test its temperature? I'm wondering partial blockage at the usual place which is restricting circulation and the boiler stat kicks in quite normally as it should 'cos the heat isn't being taken away.

    Cheers

I feel a bit deflated but would like to help if I can. To be honest I can't remember the fault flowchart we had created, but it seems we have the boiler and pump still out for the count. Assuming the boiler has water in it and gas is connected and the signal lines are calling then the graphic diagnosis flowchart in the installation manual for the boiler itself should highlight the fault, but it very difficult for the OP to know what to listen for and then interpret what a particular sound is. Does this boiler have a self diagnostic mode with codes? I don't have the factory service manual.

MrsE turned it off and on again and it worked briefly, an air lock perhaps after equalisation? Or I agree a blockage, Maybe an automatic air vent somewhere failed? Bungalow... could have plenty of drops?
