My boiler seems to think its hot enough in here & is turning itself off.
But its not hot enough for me:mad:
I have all rads on full & temp dial up to max (30) & the real temp in here is 19 degrees & the boiler won't come back on to heat the place up.
Can they get too hot & trip or anything?
DH is at work:o

So the main thermostat is set to high? If so, and it still does that, you will need it checked out. The boiler seems faulty.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

The therostat on the boiler I've set to max & the one on the wall & all rads (not all have number valves, but all on max one way or another).
Great time to develop a fault:mad:0 -
A room/wall thermostat set to 30
temperature controller on boiler set to ? (please advise)
are all the radiators roughly the same temperature to the touch ?
are you able to feel if the Flow and Return (the two bigger pipes that connect to the radiators) at the boiler are nearly the same temperature, (please advise)

temperature controller on boiler set to ? (please advise)MAX, no numbers, just a dial, bit like in some car heaters, difficult to describe, the line gets fatter as it goes around.
are all the radiators roughly the same temperature to the touch ? They are all cooling, yes they are all the same coolness.

They are both pretty cool now.0 -
if the radiators are all similar temperatures then they are said to be "balanced" which is good.
There are three things that spring to mind at this cold time. the first is an override temperature cutout in the heatexchanger, which could be cutting in early so the boiler thinks it is hotter than it is,
the second is the circulating pump is slowing to a crawl but this would mean a significant temperature differrential on the flow and return.
The third is the port valve is damaged or not closing/opening fully.
So lets assume you have a combiboiler. Does the domestic hot water out of the tap behave as normal ie can you get it as hot as usual.

This may sound a bit daft but you may as well check the simple things first.
Are you familiar with the timer? yes
Can you switch the boiler onto constant?
I put it on constant this morning - I normally have it on twice, but I was off today & its a cold weekend so I figured it was staying on till Monday anyway.0 -

Its not a combi (wish it was), its a condenser.
Rads & pipes are fairly cold now.0 -

Thats fine, as long as it is not an indirect system. Although just to check; are you able to specify the make and model. And can you confirm that you do not have a hot water cylinder in an airing cupboard.
So how about the performance of the hot water coming out the tap?
next thing to try is to reset the boiler.

I have a HW cylinder in the airing cupboard, it can also be worked via electric (I think, but I've never done it - yet).
I would love to reset. but I don't know how:o
ETA water is warm - from when boiler was on earlier.0 -
Clutching at straws now but I have a combi boiler. I used to have the hot water temp set to max and each time my son took one of his 45 minute showers the boiler would cut out and had to be re-set before it would work. (That just means pressing the re-set button).
I cured that by turning the hot water temp down a little.
So if you do get it going again I would suggest you turn it down slightly.
duncan303 obviously knows a lot more about boilers than I do so I hope he will be able to help you get it going again.
Good luck
I've looked for a reset button, I can't find one:o0
