I don't have the front cover on it, (its in a cupboard), so I dug it out.

To reset you switch off waiting 5 secs & switch on, well I did that (for longer than 5 secs).

It makes a low humming noise, like it wants to work.

I had a thought, years ago (in Ireland) a calor gas bottle froze in very cold weather (bottle outside piped into cooker).

Well my pipe goes from meter in house, out the wall, around the side of the house & into boiler.

Do you think it could have froze:eek: The gas I mean?
  • Baxi solo condensing boiler, is not a specific boiler I am familiar with but I fully understand the principles involved.

we have established that you now have an indirect probably fully pumped central heating system.

    is this your boiler? http://www.baxi.co.uk/products/baxi-solo-he.htm

The boiler does not really care whether it it the radiators or the Hot water Cylinder that is "calling" for heat.

Are you able with the controls you have to override and turn on the heating for hot water, does the boiler fire up? and does the pipe which is located mid height on the hot water cylinder get hot.?

The problem is not with needing to reset the boiler or reading the instructions.

Do the radiators heat up at the same time when the hot water program is running and cool down when this has finished, or more likely, when the hot water cylinder has reached the correct temperature?

I run the rads twice a day (normally), I only run the hot water once in the evening for a couple of hours.

    :o I hate the cold:o
  • Natural Gas will not freeze, but liquid gas as in calor bottled gas can find it difficult to create a pressure differential if the container(bottle) is too cold. Not really freezing but it happens in very cold weather.

you are on Natural gas are you not?
