I think she wandered off still in pain - but also rather dazed by the who affair
I didn't realise a trolly in the leg would leave you feeling dazed.

THis sounds like the classic 'ambulance chaser' to me.

that level of service can only be attributed to Mr A or Mr T, both of whom often are staffed by monkeys. shuffling about aimlessly and grunting for communication. im not saying thats always the case, but it is my my experience.i know im going to be shot down for that opinion but remember, it is only my opinion through extensive experience.

playing Devils advocate here, I can see OP has a case..

by "Tall Trolley" I am assuming he means stock cages, which any supermarket will train you to pull so as you avoid this type of accident. If the staff member was pushing one of these cages then she is in breach of the company health and safety policy at best i imagine.

OP, omitting the names, address etc, why not print the letter here so we can get a better idea of what sort of "apology" they gave.
  • thanks for the comments - sarcastic and positive.

Not looking for any financial compensation - I was just dissapointed in the letter that was sent. When a person responding to a complaint cannot get the name and address correct and sends it on non-headed paper, one wonders as to how sincere the apology was.

I guess my question should simply have been - if one is not happy with correspondance received following a complaint should one raise it with a higher member of staff in the store or with their store's HO.

I can't understand how the letter was received if it was incorrectly addressed or how you knew where it had come from if it wasn't on headed paper.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

    .

Where did the store get the name and address from? From your mother at the time probably just taken down incorrectly.

    Hi,

My mother was injured in a well known departmental store last month in the north of the UK. She has finally received letter from the store.

This has the following errors (at least)....

    surname wrong
    initial wrong
    not on headed paper
    patronising
    address wrong

I am very dissapointed that the store has sent such a letter, when my mother was hurt by the actions of a member of staff.

What can she do now? What are her options?

I do not beleive it was sent my the store manager - rather a lower ranked person. Do we take it back to the store and complain? Do we phone head office?

    Any advice please?

I hope your going to give your postman/woman a tip that seems to be very good service..
