She returned home and wa very upset and her neighbour had to calm her down as she was still in a state of shock.
The member of staff had been previously laughing with a colleague, so clearly her mind was on something else.
My mother was not offered assistance at the time, I think she wandered off still in pain - but also rather dazed by the who affair.
My dissapointment comes in the rather poor letter sent as much as anything - which smacks of 'we do not really care'.
Tbh I think its questionable that anyone legally did anything wrong here.
An apology seems fair. why do a few minor mistakes matter. You have the apology. Move on0 -
Did the accident get recorded in store at the time (was in entered into an accident book for instance)?0

Mother or wife???!!I'm noticing a pattern!
People receive a letter of apology, but they nit-pick and dream up reasons why the apology isn't adequate - because what they really want is money instead! COMPENSAYSHUN!

No she reported it to another member of staff and the original girl said 'oops, sorry' - but nobody suggested that.
Probably best let it drop in hindsight - accidents happen.0 -

Am i in the minority here? turn your back to a big tall trolley with supermarket monkeys on the loose, thats a recipe for disaster and the mothers fault equally, tho there isnt actually 'fault' to be apportioned here, without being witness.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)

Depending on how long ago the accident happened and how badly injured your mother was, you could send a recorded delivery letter to the store to report the accident, ask them to record it on their records and ask for the name of their insurers at the same time. Then, if you feel it is worth pursuing, you could seek legal advice with a view to claiming compensation. If however, you just wish for an apology from the store then I would be inclined to ring the head office to complain about the shoddy letter you received and ask them to follow it up with a proper one.0
