Because the OP would have had to have been present to give personal details such as contact address and phone number.

Since he has not mentioned this, and also noted mother/wife 'wandering off', I came to the conclusion that it was not recorded. The shop assistant's blase response also suggests protocol was not followed.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I have absolutely no idea if the incident was recorded or not....as I have seen no evidence one way or other. I neither assume or presume as people do sometimes omit details.
  • You can claim on that store for getting injury and for this i think you have to take advise from an injury lawyer who will guide you in right direction.

Sounds to me like the store didn't care enough to do anything, but the girl felt bad about it and so wrote a letter off her own back. If she's not the brightest, then that would explain the errors.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

She returned home and wa very upset and her neighbour had to calm her down as she was still in a state of shock.

    Family deaths cause "shock".
Having your house burgled requires a neighbour to "calm you down".
Finding out that you're terminally ill causes people to be "very upset".

Getting knocked by a supermarket trolley causes none of these, and I can only advise that your Mum gets a grip.
