My son's xbox was saying cant play dvd when game was inside, also started to only play games when it felt like it, saying clean your disc & cant read disc (even though game was brand new and tried on pals xbox after to be working fine) Had 1 month guarentee left & microsoft collected it, after 2 weeks got a new one with a note saying as it had been so long they were just replacing with a new one :) I am happy he got a new one back but would also like to say that i would never purchase a xbox again, both carrier and argos staff said they were constanly recieving xbox's back.. When you pay £180 you dont expect there to be problems after a few months, my son does't move his xbox or take it to friends so it wasnt damaged by him...

  • I've voted on three. First 360 was faulty but the replacement is fine. PS3 hasn't played up yet other than the odd crash in games but that's software related.
  • Voted on one.

    Was xbox360 60gb version
10months old only used every other weekend. Although it was the powerpack that was red lighting ended up with an elite because there are no replacement powerpacks for my discontinued version......

  • Got a 60gb launch ps3 and hasn't played up once. Even after countless knocks and bumps. Most of my friends have a 360 and theres at least one of them with a red ring at any given time.

Definately worth shelling out the extra £50-£100 for a PS3

I have a 60 GB Xbox 360, purchased a year ago, and I haven't had a single problem with it. *touch wood*

I purchased it just for gaming, and to me it seemed like the better choice, reliability problems or not.
  • Love Xbox 360s so much, I've bought 3!

Sold one to mate (made a profit! :))

Another one, the Disc Drive went after about 3 years

My current one (about 15 moths old) still going strong
