Despite the high failure rate of the 360 im still loving it, i bought the console december 05 and it got rrod within 4 or 5 months so i got it exchanged at gamestation and then that went rrod within 4 or 5 months so again i got it exchanged so in the space of 1 year i had returned 2 consoles due to rrod. Last year i had to send off the console again due to rrod which ms fixed for free and the thing has got rrod again so i bought an elite and ill send off the dead 1 to get it fixed this week.0

Is the PS3 only 2 years old if so this "research" has no real basis.
Many people who have had repairs to the 360 are still happy....and they have good reason, so there are many other things to take into account.
It does get tiresome this "Which is better mine or yours" as if there is competition, because if Sony and Microsoft themselves did want to compete then they wouldn't release consoles alternatively. So, next year or maybe next Christmas we could see a new XBox....2-3 years later a PS4?......and the daft public will continue to buy them as they appear.
I'd like to see a campaign to bring down the cost of games.0 -

I think we all know the Xbox 360 has historically been more unreliable, so it's a bit of a foregone conclusion.
What would have been interesting is a survey to see how many owners of Jasper chipset models have had problems with them.
The easiest way to spot a Jasper unit is to look at the power rating on the rear of the console. If it says, 12.1A, it's a Jasper unit. If it says 14.2A, it's one of the older Falcon models.0 -
Didn't know that I'll check mine out.
BTW we have 3 360s, only one, so far, had to be sent for repair after 3 years and played almost constantly, really! The disk drive was sticky too but that was not guaranteed.
It came back with a new box and everything working all free and with a month of Live.
Unfortunately these brands encourage customer loyalty....a very dangerous thing these days!0 -
People from Larne are not in a position to roll their eyes at anyone.

That's quite true can't argue with you there, being in the privileged position of living in such a wonderful place i shouldn't look down on anyone........ ...
:D What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -
Please could you offer me some advice?
I bought my DH an Xbox 360 in May 07-took out warranty for an additional year with game which has now expired. We had to have a hardware problem fixed during that time.
Now the Xbox 360 has got the dreaded red light thing-fault saying E74 and I cant afford a repair bill that costs more than a new console.
Is there anything I can do? Will microsoft repair this? Can I use my consumer rights Sales of Goods Act with Game?
Sorry, completely clueless and have a very upset husband for xmas
Thanks in advance0
