SYH4free (sell your house for free) scam or real?

Options
Has anybody dealt with this company, they sent a valuer and then i got an offer which is OK although below the valuation price. Their terms say you pay 1% of the sale price which you get back on completion, they make their money from the buyer. I am nervous about paying up front and who would buy a house without seeing it, looking on the net there is not much there as they have only been around since September? if anyine has dealt with this company i would be really interested to hear of your experience.

Why would a buyer pay them to buy your house?

Errm sure. They're not based in Nigeria by any chance?
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
  • no London and they look legit website is syh4free dot com
  • If someone wants to buy something from you they pay you, not the other way round. Of course it is a scam.

could I get your address so I can send you a letter saying you have won the Canadian lottery. Only £399 to claim your £10,000,000

Binnybin - you are being told loud and clear that in most cases these sites have proven to be just there to steal your money. Most likely no-one has dealt with this particular one as they change names so often.

Just tell them to take the money from the buyer at completion, rather than from you if you really want to go ahead. Or from the buyer now for that matter! Shouldn't make any difference to them, and if they refuse, you can assume that is because there never will be a completion date. There is another thread on this website about a similar legit sounding scan, where all parties suddenly realised they were being told exactly the same story about a buyer, who seemed to develop family problems, or go overseas whenever completion came close.

Regardless of how watertight the contract you sign with them is, if you can't find them and/or they have declared bankrupcy, the money is gone.

I'd run a mile if i were you. You've had an offer from your property but no one has been to view it?? Would you buy a property you'd never seen before? No.

    - you probably pay 1% of the sale price only to find the sale falls through before completion...
