  • I have emailed to you today a record of my extended one-sided correspondence with your Mr Parvin Kumar in which I have attempted, so far without success, to obtain the cashback to which I believe I am entitled under your terms and conditions.

  • I did as you requested on 28 November.

29 November: Acknowledgement email from BTQ confirming that my claim had been approved and that my bank account would be credited. [my claim had already been logged and as I understood it approved on 4 November]

1 Dec: Email from myself asking for confirmation of which account would be credited, and when.

    To date no reply.

1 Dec: Email from my BTQ "correspondent" Mr Parvin Kumar stating that my claim had been "escalated to our financial controller with a payment date to be confirmed"

    Since then no further news.

Bearing in mind that it is all but 7 months since the date of the change of supplier via BTQ, I take this to mean that either your Accounts Dept is in a state of shambles, or - more likely - that you are still using every possible pretext to postpone or get out of paying the cashback to which I am entitled under the terms of the contract. Hopefully this exposure via the Moneysavingexpert forum will (again) trigger some meaningful response as to when the issue is finally going to get concluded.

  • I came to the forum after googling this issue and I'm finding it impossible to get any communication never mind money from beatthatquote.com

I took out my car insurance, waited 60 days then claimed. I then received an email telling me I'd filled in the wrong form (even though it was the only one I can find on their website) and that i should email their cashbackappeal address. i did this and have had no communication in the past 5 days.

I have an enquiry reference number and nothing else.

Is there any help available here still?

    I won't be bothering with beatthatquote.com again I fear.

If it is of any consolation I finally got my promised cashback precisely 7 months and countless emails after the date when my utilities switchover happened - and only, I am convinced, as a result of posting my complaint on this forum. No explanations were offered which makes me think that this is standard practice. The onus is squarely on BeatThatQuote to prove to us that this is not the case - for MSE members and non-members alike.

Out of interest, why do the posters need to quote a reference number to get their problem sorted out. If your company did not have problems with responding to communications and paying cashback then they should be able to just send a email without the reference.

Me thinks judging by the numerous posts about no one responding to communications and lack of cashback that you have problems. Coming on MSE would appear to be a damage limitation exercise.

Going by past experiences, MSE will delete this email shortly as BTQ are special

Hi dacouch, thanks for your post.

We operate cashback schemes for a number of different organisations, and each of these schemes has a different link to ensure the claim is matched correctly (even though the claim forms themselves look the same). We can't therefore just send out a generic link to a claim form - we need to direct people to the appropriate one.

You will appreciate that we can't (and wouldn't) ask for MSE users to give their personal details in the forum, but by giving their user names when emailing us we can be sure we have matched up a claim form or email coming to us with a post here.

When someone does submit a claim to us, we need to find the details of the relevant policy reported to us by our insurance panel. That's why we have an initial 60 day wait to allow sufficient time for the reports to reach us before claims can be made. Sometimes we can't find a matching policy, and then have to make further enquiries with the insurance company or broker concerned.

Being present on this forum and monitoring the posts made allows us to see feedback from individuals (not all of whom have approached us before posting) and try our best to resolve any issues. It's not a "damage limitation exercise".

Good to read an insight into the workings of cashback schemes such as this - doesn't detract from the fact that I sent the email you suggested I should send, on the 17th and had no correspondence back to acknowledge receipt or suggest that it was read or received never mind is in the process of being resolved.

Could you give me any update on this? I'm happy to email my contact details if someone would like to actually speak to me in person (novel idea I know).

Hope to hear from you or someone soon.

    Regards

@hud125 - I've checked our incoming mail and can't see a mail from you there. Can you double check the address to which it was sent please? If you could put "hud125 - cashback" as subject line we'll look out for that too. Please also include your contact details so we can call you. Finally, if you could post your enquiry reference on this thread then we should be able to find you that way.

I'm sorry for the troubles you are experiencing, and we'll do our best to resolve these for you.
