@geordie_ben - Excellent!“Official Company Representative

Hi - my query isn't about insurance, but about utility switching with BeatThatQuote. Since the co. rep. appears here, I thought I'd try posting here (thanks geordie_ben!). About a week ago I completed details on the BeatThatQuote.com site and agreed to switch. I've heard nothing from them since - does anyone know, should I have received an e-mail from them, or do I just wait for the new provider to get in touch?0

Query answered - I phoned beatthatquote today - I should have had an e-mail, but haven't. However, they confirmed that the switch is taking place, so all's well! (I hope!)0 -
A couple of years ago, Beatthatquote started spamming me, daily . . .:mad:
I foolishly clicked the "unsubscribe" button . . . that's when the spam really started, not just from them but all the usual world wide SPAM c**p. :mad:
I visited their site and found the forum . . not much activity apart from posters demanding they stop spamming . . to this day I still get between 20 and 30 SPAM mails a day to that account, BEWARE0 -
I received an email from BTQ 29th September saying: "We are pleased to confirm that your claim has now been approved. We will now be arranging to credit your bank account and will write to you again shortly."
I have never been contacted since.
I have sent two emails enquiring when I will receive my cashback to no avail. Come on BTQ!0 -

I switched energy supplier in May this year using Beat that Quote and since then have had a regular series of emails encouraging me to use them for car and other insurance also. Only as a result of chasing the company was I able to "extract" from them the claim form for my cashback, and was finally given a claim reference number with the implication that this would be settled. No amount of emails since then asking for an update have had any effect, these are not acknowledged regardless of whether sent to the company rep or via the website. I phoned to ask how to email the Complaints Manager - receptionist unable to provide this. Same request via the website - no response.
The inescapable conclusion is that Beat that Quote does not honour cashback commitments.
Consumer Direct / OFT advised me to write claiming Breach of Contract which I intend to do. Has anyone else had similar experience and have you been able to get justice without going to the High Court?
In the circs I take a rather dim view of Beat that Quote being referenced if not actually recommended on the Moneysavingexpert web site, and suggest that if it stays then with a Government Health Warning.Telegraph Sam
