I will PM you his details:

He said for you to give him a call and arrange something.

He has asked for the model number but I will tell him you dont know what this is. Ive given him the manufacturer name.

I'm thinking, Mitsubishi Ecodan ASHP combined with thermaskirt radiator system & domestic hot water.
Anyone out there done anything similar? any comments/advice?

    Appreciated,

    TH[/QUOTE]

Found a lot of useful tips & comments thanks.

Despite the negatives in wet ASHPs, and the awkwardness of retrofitting to an appartment (including mounting the unit), it is still the best (only?) solution where there is no gas available.
The unit has to be sized correctly, it has to use underfloor to get enough heat output.
Assuming I can get the planning consent, I will go ahead and install in the new year.
I will keep the forum updated as and when, it might help others.
  • Make sure u oversize the system to allow urself extra duty in cold weather like this.

Yes, I need about 4kw + hot water. Ultimately, I will take the advice of whoever my supplier turns out to be; but I'm expecting about an 8kw output pump if its an advanced type, ecodan or altherma or more if its a trianco type (perhaps 12kw?) but I do favour the altherma purely on the basis that the "outside" unit is the most compact/quietest and suits the awkward mounting options of an appartment.
    But i'm still open minded.
