I fall into one of those catogries, and havent recieved mine yet, and was relying on it for christmas pressents!
Hmmm, strange. If you don't mind me asking, which category do you fall into? I've just spoke to a friend who got hers this morning.

I fall into the parent and self supporting category and haven't received mine.

Is it really wise to rely on a payment (which we should be grateful for getting!) to buy Christmas presents? Surely a decent budget should be based on what you know you have/will have rather than what you hope to get before Christmas.

I fall into the self supporting category, for last two years I always received mine on the same week I applied, called on Monday and they sent it hasn't been processed yet. well if it really is with 21 days by the time they come back from Christmas (on 5th Jan) that will be 24 days so I don't know how they work that one out.

It's over the Christmas holiday, there is a backlog for every single company out there at this time of year.

You need to have applied for everything you are entitled to apply for before you can apply for Travel Expenses. You need to print of a form from the website and have your parents complete it. From memory, search for "Change of Circumstances" and it should bring up a link for the form.

Hi there, was wondering if anyone could help me,

Last year I applied for the income assessed loan, and after filling out all the stuff from my parents P45s etc a ended up just gettin the basic loan anyway, so this year I thought i'd save myself the bother & just apply for the non-income assessed part. Last year, I applied for my travel expenses and saas gave me something like £280. This year when I clicked on the apply now button it said that as I hadn't applied for an income-assessed loan I was not eligible to apply for travel expenses  ! In the FAQs on their website, it says they need details of my parents income before they will award me my expenses, but now i'm really worried there just gonna say no your not getting anything. I've emailed saas, anyone have any advice as to what they'll say ?

    Thanks, Emily xox
  • Mines comes to over £750, but the last two years its always been in a week after applying.
This year might be different for me though, as ive changed where i am (college to uni) And i used to just get a bus, now i get a bus and a train. So i dont know if tha comes into it
  • I have just phoned up, and have been told we have processed your application and your travel expenses should be in your bank account within 7 working days from the 16th
