:p something is conspiring to stop me making them... pastry in fridge was out of date, and past its best (slightly grey, wouldn't roll out). Opened pastry from freezer to find it was mouldy  so will have to make some later... jars & bottles for present-making are in the DW and I have located my truffle recipe (double cream and chocolate... not exactly difficult

In fact my cup runneth over, since I have ex MIL and the current MIL in the house at the same time.
eta greenbee have you tried a cracklelog, its not v.green, and the lazy/busy woman's method of firelighting, but good for when you are exhausted and freezing cold.
Thanks for the idea... will look into it...
as for the MILs... hope you survive. Best suggestion I can make is to put them to work - so if one of them wants to fold towels, let her do ALL of them. could you get one of them ironing and another one cleaning windows? (Or how about one cleaning out the garage and the other the attic;)
After my thwarted attempt at cooking, I'm giving up and going to get ready for going out... it's church, so it'll be cold... oh, and I have my ankle to re-do the strapping on too.0 -
I'm ready...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Afternoon ladies - I've done beggar all really. Went and picked Dh's car up as we left it at the do last night and got a taxi home. Don't like driving in this weather! Wrapped mum and dads present and took them up. The are going to Nidd Hall for xmas on wednesday so won't see them now until after. Came home had some toast, put mince in the oven for cottage pie and prepared the veg - comfort food on a day like today. Weather says we are in for another bout of snow. Looks like I'll be walking to work tomorrow then.To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0
