Just rang up for free backpack and got told I couldn't order it as it was a verbaudet item and my account is laredoute. Asked to speak to a manager and he apologised and said the only way they could accept the orders at the moment is in writing but that he would do that for me and I should receive it soon. We'll see what turns up!July- coconut body shop body butter, pom bear football, mini johnsons lotion, Sally Hansen nail treatments0

I ordered a blanket too and received the same emails, a debit from my card, an empty packet today and a fruitless phone conversation with the financial hardship team [free number]. I have to admit that when I spoke to the lady on the 0844 number, she was suitably apologetic. She says that she can refund my card, take a note of my conmplaint and that the blankets are now back in stock and I will be receiving one free. Time will tell - plenty of time for it to arrive before Christmas!
Good luck to others
That is interesting, because when i was offered the refund I said I was prepared to wait for the blanket to come back in stock. But the CS said that the blanket was discontinued and they were not going to be receiving anymore stock from the supplier.I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Good luck Mrs annie - I don't hold a lot of hope for my blanket any time soon but I might write to them after waiting a while - beseiging the financial services team's free number is bound to get a note in company agendas and if we all write in, they will have to take some note.
i will let you know IF I ever recieve a refund or a blanket and perhaps then you could quote my experience if it is worth you writing in.0 -
Same scenario here. They called it a 'mistake' - what, to hundreds of customers? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

BTW, there's total silence (no music) when you're on hold, so don't worrry that you've been cut off !!
If you've got free inclusive minutes, it'll be a cheaper way to call to get £2.25 refund!!
CS lady very nice, doing her best to salvage the company's reputation. I asked for my details to be removed from the data base, she said she would do that, but up to 12 weeks mailings mightstill be received before the removal kicks in (!!). Refund to debit card shopuld be received in 3 working days

No answer to my email two days ago, so I just called 01924 743612, and the lady said the blanket is OOS, and I had to give my full card details to get a refund.
I also asked about the 'free gift', only to be told that I could only have it if the blanket had been a free gift with an order! The CS even admitted they had been selling free gifts!

Same story, empty packet, customer care refunded card. Mentioned that many people were displeased, she acknowledged this.
